Hunters are the latest targets of the animal rights extremists and may become victims of homicide. It seems terrorist organizations like the Animal Liberation Front (ALF) and Win Animal Rights (WAR) have become so radical that now they believe it is alright to kill humans to protect animals. Right now they are headed to New Jersey to stop a bear hunt by any means they can.
I just read a report by Cam Edwards on the 21st where ALF went to the home of Lloyd Harbor, New York mayor Leland Hairr and painted anti-hunting slogans on his home and his car in the garage because he had asked the state for a special season to help with a problem of too many deer in the area of his city.
Well the state of New York had already backed down, but not because of this act, they had already stopped because of pressure from the Catholic seminary in that city. So this criminal act never needed to happen in the first place. The police need to bring those responsible for this to justice as quick as possible.
There is a common thread between ALF and WAR, however they deny any connection. The North American Animal Liberation Press Office (NAALPO) has as one of their national press officers Camille Hankins who is the founder of WAR. They also have a Dr. Jerry Vlasak a trauma surgeon in Los Angeles, California as a press officer and he is a member of ALF. In an interview on 60 Minutes Vlasak has said, I think for five lives, ten lives, 15 human lives, we could save a million, two million, ten million nonhuman lives. He told CBS, I think people who torture innocent beings should be stopped. And if they wont stop when you ask them nicely, they wont stop when you demonstrate to them what theyre doing is wrong, then they should be stopped using whatever means necessary. What does this mean to you?
They have become terrorists and their target is hunters and others. I think they mean to do whatever it takes including breaking the law and using homicide to stop hunting of animals. Every hunter who goes into the field should be ready and willing to do what it takes to protect themselves. This means you may need to leave someone in camp now to protect it. You will not only have to watch for game now you will have to distrust and watch anyone else in the wood with you. Can you see how this is going to affect our national pastime and heritage? What is this world coming too? We may soon know if they are willing to take a human life to protect a bear.
To date no one in government is speaking out against these organizations. Are they afraid of them or what? Right now these groups have destroyed over 100 million dollars worth of property and they are becoming more violent. They have declared war on us so when will our government and law enforcement do something about it? Its time to start fighting back. Perhaps the ALF and WAR people will wake up to find someone painted their homes and vehicles. Do we need a group to fight them on their own terms? Will the government do anything to that group? I think they would.
What this means is that you and I will have to be very careful in the future and around our own homes. Will I become a target because I write about this? Well I can tell you I am already on their list for not only writing about them but because I have fought against them politically on many occasions. I will tell them the same thing I told criminals who made threats against me and my family, Come on down and make your first shot count, because the second one is mine and I dont miss.
This is not the America we asked for and it sure isnt what many of us fought the wars for, but it is reality in this day and age. Its time to get active and stop this kind of activity before it goes to a shooting war. Call our political leaders and let them know how you feel. In short get involved before it is to late, the time to act is now.
God Bless America and God bless our troops still in harms way.
[Deer are natural prey animals, bears are not. They're cousins to dogs and wolves and I don't picture eating any of the three.]
I am going to go have a cup of coffee and reread what he wrote.
I hear that all the protesters will be at the Check station, but if they wander into the woods they are taking their life in their hands.

Thats right. Hippie meat is really inedible. You cant get the stench out of it, and it is usually covered in disease. One bite of hippie meat and you could get VD and fail your next drug test. Just take your shovel and bury them.
What does this mean?

I wish these radical groups would help animals in OTHER parts of the world......where there are REAL problems.
Deer hunter bitten by black bear

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) A deer hunter was bitten on the knee by a black bear in Mobile County woods near Turnerville.
Kenneth Scoggin of Chunchula underwent surgery Friday night at Springhill Medical Center in Mobile.
"I just knew I was a goner," Scoggin told the Mobile Register for a story Sunday.
Scoggin said he was near the end of a deer hunt near the Bush Coon Hunting Club when he heard a grunt.
"By the time I saw her and she saw me, up the tree she came," he said.
Scoggin, who said he was at least 30 feet up a pine tree in a climbing tree stand, hung onto the seat of the stand, his safety harness unhooked.
The bear climbed up the tree, bit him on the right knee, he said, and wouldn't let go.
"She was hanging onto the meat, and I was hanging onto the seat," Scoggin said. "When that meat gave way, she fell to the ground, and I got my pistol around."
Scoggin said the bear started to climb the tree again when Scoggin shot it four or five times with a .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol. The bear fell to the ground a second time, and Scoggin said he fired a fatal shot with his deer rifle.
He used a cell phone to call a neighbor for help.
Daniel Powell, coordinator for the Alabama Black Bear Alliance, said the bear that bit Scoggin was a female with two cubs, though the cubs had not been recovered.
"If any bear is going to be aggressive, it will be a mother with cubs," Powell said, "But even a mother black bear with cubs is not normally going to attack humans - maybe one in 100,000 times."
The bear's body was taken for testing by the Game and Fish division of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

"Da-vee, Davy Crockett, the King of The Wild Frontier.."
tcostell,
Can you give us a report after the hunt? I really have an interest in how this works out.
Good luck, hope you bag a bear.
P.S. -- I'm sitting at my desk watching a big old doe munching acorns in my yard. We are covered up with deer here.
"She was hanging onto the meat, and I was hanging onto the seat," Scoggin said. "When that meat gave way, she fell to the ground, and I got my pistol around."
This guy sounds like Jesse Jackson.

Add me to the banglist please!
Can I get added to the banglist?
Bear meat is actually pretty tasty.
With a .22? My God, that must've been at extreme close range.
"Benelli 12 Gauge and 1/2 dozen Magnum slugs".
A bear with a .22! Impressive! Must have been a bullet up the nose (owwh) or into the eye (urrgh).
I wouldn't trust a .22 against even those smaller cousins of bears, Wolves and Dogs.
Perhaps one of you could just ping the keeper of the banglist to this thread as requests to the list are coming in fast and furious!

The three S's: Shoot, Shovel, and Shutup. I have been told that is how California ranchers deal with problem mountain lions now that it is illegal to hunt them.
The ALF have lost their minds.
Bring
it
on.
