First, Schroeder and Fischer's left-wing government fell in Germany to conservatives...next, Martin's liberal Canadian government fell, and soon, Chirac's government in France will fall...

...Which is to say, all of the major governments that opposed the Iraq War have fallen or are about to fall.

In contrast, the governments that supported the Iraq War, save for Spain, have all been re-elected (e.g. GWB in the U.S., Howard in Australia, Koizumi in Japan, Poland, Blair in Britain, etc.).

Sort of gives lie to the liberal myth that the Iraq War was/is unpopular...

Nice and all that, but really who really cares?

We are on the border and the only Canadian issue that comes up is all the Canadians coming to hospitals here to do their surgeries they can't get done until after they're dead.

I hate to pee on the dancefloor but I think the NDP pulled a sucker move and will lose seats to the liberals.

Duceppe stayed quiet and let Jack Layton fall on the hand grenade.

Bloc can now claim they didn't force the election and Layton is left holding the bag.

NDP support in the west added one seat and NDP support in Ontario is weak except in Toronto.

My prediction: Martin will be back with a few more seats and another minority government.

If I'm wrong I will drink my own urine. (Gag, Cough)
