Missile Attack On Passenger Jet?
Radio News | November 28, 2005

Posted on 11/28/2005 4:49:25 AM PST by texianyankee

I heard on the radio this morning, that a pilot of a passenger jet departing LAX claimed to have narrowly avoided being hit by a missile. It was reported that the jet was about 6,000 feet in altitude & over the ocean when the event occurred. The news report further stated that authorities believe it was possibly a flare or a "bottle rocket."

I googled but found nothing. Anyone else have some info on this? I dont recall whether it was CBS or NBC radio news.

Snipped....

However, American Airlines flight 621 does not fly into LAX. It goes from ORD (Chicago) to DFW (Dallas Fort Worth) to SNA (Orange County - John Wayne International).

To further complicate any investigation, a review of Passur data for Orange County Airport finds that data is unavailable for the time period when AA 621 would have been landing. Flight data is available for the days immediately preceeding and immediately following the reported incident.

A check of several fee-based systems shows the same missing time period. When I called American Airlines, I was told that flight data was not available from them either for that flight on November 27.

Given what's supposedly out there, it's surprising so little has happened.

Oh, they have the data, the manifest, names of all paxs, the destination, fuel consumed, air time, landing speed, weather info, and how many drinks were served. It's just not available to you or I.

So what's that about, just keeping the flight crew anonymous?

Just wanted to check in today - finally. I got another email this morning from the author of the article on the website - http://www.homelandsecurityus.com/home.htm

He again stated he personally believes from the info he has picked up so far from his "sources" that there is a definite story here. Unfortunately, there doesnt appear to be much more substantial than that at the moment that I can offer that is very "newsworthy" to you guys from his message. Seems that his contact from a competing media outlet attempted to contact an ABC news person, but was basically stonewalled. The trail is there, but no one will fess up at ABC at the moment, he stated.

I dont know what else to suggest or to do at the moment except to keep talking about it & check out any possible leads.

When I heard that, among the 170+ witnesses that described a missile rising from the ground to
NOT SEEN by the eyes of pilots who were in the flight lanes that evening actually flying in those skies that evening behind and ahead of TWA FLT 800 ...

But I digress; these kinds of facts interfere with a good conspiracy spun endlessly over the years ...

Yes, you do. When you take off from SNA you fly out over the ocean.

"Thaw the chicken.""

Might matter at train speeds. But it's a minor effect at jet aircraft speeds.

At one time they used live birds. Then the ASPCA made them anesthetize them. I knew an aircraft structure engineer that had participated in both sorts of tests. He said the high speed film of the live bird tests were rather amusing, as the birds seemed to try to slow down as they left the "cannon", although it could have been an illusion due to the relative wind flaring out their wings.
