Anti-"Sport Hunting"

Posted on 11/26/2005 11:22:01 PM PST by FranklySpeaking

Any psuedo "sport-hunting", posing poser, tree-standing, duckblinding, inadequate, floundering, hunterering bozo who wants to kill any defenseless beautiful animal like any one of these needs to check and re-check their thinking. God is watching.

If you don't let hunters shoot them, you'll just have to pay to have them exterminated.

There are stores in every town. USDA raised and stamped food can be found there...

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/fr/676753/posts We're not quite there yet — one USDA worker for every farmer — but we're getting closer everyday. Over the past 30 years in the United States, the number of full-time farmers has fallen by about half, but the number of USDA employees has increased by nearly 50%. And the dollars paid out by the USDA to the shrinking number of farmers has accelerated even more rapidly.

So Frankly, you are a USDA supporting conservative? Would it be OK with you if every hunter had to be assigned to report to a USDA agent? Frankly, when one finds themselves in a hole; it is best to quit shoveling.

You were not "designed" to hunt because of genetic and environmental deficiencies. These factors have contributed to your role as a discontented parasite upon our society; driven to attempt asserting control over the pleasure and behavior of the very society that sustains your miserable and petty existence.

Even a cousin of mine was part of RR's invited entourage and was on TV at Ron's funeral...on both coasts, huh? and we all think the same, huh?

What was your cousins name?

"Listen. You've been "outed" as a troll who continues to come back under different names. Just give it up already".

Jeez Louizzze. An Annie Oakley wannabee suspicious of any other gun carrying Conservatives who don't get a thrill out of blasting away innocent animals.

And to think we were almost friends .

If you think I'm anyone else, or a Troll, have my IP address checked and compared, k?. I am who I say I am. Great. Thanks.

PS.......Wisconsin is beautiful, btw. I really liked Eau Claire. I enjoyed it very much when I was there. And surprisingly, I had a great time without hunting. There were actually supermarkets there! Amazing! :>

well, you're also pro gay marriage and anti smoking in public restaurants.

So maybe you're really on the wrong board.

Thanks!

I got tired of people constantly taking liberal positions and then saying how conservative they were...and then decrying me and others as not being conservative when we pretty much took a classic consevative stance - as RWR would have done.

Isn't there a difference between murder and killing an attacker in self defense?

I agree with your point as stated, but hunting isn't self defense or even survival. It is a sport. Whether the sport results in a dinner or a set of antlers on the wall is of little consequence in saying it is a good thing or a bad thing.

Some posters seem to be saying it is okay to kill an animal if your reason is that you prefer venison to steak, but not if you simply enjoy the challenge of the sport. I don't accept that logic.

Please allow me to diagram Frankly's logic on this board:

Hunting is bad because it kills Gods creatures.

There is no sport in hunting.

Hunting is not-so-bad if you are an in-bred Southerner that is too stupid to take advantage of a USDA funded food program. Just do not dare to dispose of a hoof, tendon, or scrap of sinew in a fashion that violates EPA rules.

If you enjoy any portion of the hunt, especially the killing; you are un-enlightened and should report immediately for sensitivity training. Bothering ones self with thanking God Almighty for the bounty of the earth and the God given dominion of mankind over this bounty is contrary to the agenda.

Since poverty and hunger have been effectively eliminated by government social programs, hunting is no longer necessary. Government paid (and trained) sharpshooters will take care of the herds. The immutable laws of natural selection will be overcome if we simply expand the size and scope of government.

"well, you're also pro gay marriage and anti smoking in public restaurants.

---Correction: I am against "Gay Marriage". Marriage is a term to be used for a Man and a Woman committing to each other. It's a holy Sacrament. I am completely in favor of "Gay Civil Union" with the exact same benefits as Marriage. Same as President Bush was leaning pre-election, and many other Conservatives are. Discrimination won't last.

..and of course, I'm for Smoke-Free public places. Most people are. Majority wins. People and families don't want to eat in a restaurant while engulfed in some schmoe's smoke. That's not even an option.

So maybe you're really on the wrong board".

--- How's that? Why?

I don't think so. Besides, this board has a lot that of commentary that interests me and conveys a lot of opinions that I believe in. And....the founder of this site appears to operate out of Fresno....and I live in Kern County. Lots of good Conservative folks in the Central Valley.

I hear what you are saying but trophy hunting brings big bucks to the land owner in areas where big deer live. There are leases in south Texas going for $20. per acre for deer hunting. The season last only 8 to 10 weeks out of the year.

The landowner can still run cows on the land at the same time. That adds up to a lot of money for someone who owns 50,000 to 100,000 acres of land.

I don't think trophy hunting is going to go away, and for those of you who think trophy hunting is evil because you think the meat is wasted, you are wrong! I know lots of trophy deer hunters and the meat is not left to rot on the ground. It is eaten.

For those of you who think hunting is evil because it is killing defenseless animals, there is nothing that I can say that will change your mind. Walt Disney has already made up your mind for you.

I'm a total conservationist, too, and a follower of President Reagan in many ways. I live VERY close to the land as we raise small livestock, hunt, fish, have a quarter-acre garden and a fruit orchard with apples, pears, peaches, plums, raspberries, blackberries, Concord grapes, etc. and I do all I can in my little corner of the world to live lightly and organically. And I vote 100% Republican. Go figure!

And that includes living OFF of the land as well. So far this hunting season we have half a buck and two doe butchered and in our freezer. I'm actually eating venison chili as I type, LOL!

I glean the 500 acres of fields surrounding my small farm for Sweet Corn, Soybeans, Lima Beans, (with permission) and hunt and fish to feed my family. There is no doubt in my military mind that there isn't a Grand Design from God as to the usefulness of all living things. And that includes me:

POST HUMUS - By Patti Tana

Scatter my ashes in my garden
so I can be near my loves.
Say a few honest words, sing a gentle song,
join hands in a cirle of flesh.
Please tell some stories about me
making you laugh. I love to make you laugh.
When I've had time to settle, and green
gathers into buds, remember I love blossoms
bursting in spring. As the season ripens
remember my persistent passion.
And if you come in my garden
on an August afternoon
pluck a bright red globe,
let juice run down your chin and the seeds
stick to your cheek. When I'm dead
I want folks to smile and say..."That Patti,
she sure is some tomato!"

What the obnoxious and condescending RINO host of this thread doesn't understand is that The Natural World goes on above and beyond and with a MUCH greater importance than her/himself.

All you can do is pity people that are so out of touch with our basic instincts with the Natural World. When I'm old, I had better not be put in a city environment Old Age Home. If so, people are gonna hear, "Everybody hit the floor! Granny's got her .44!" ROFLMAO!

"I'm for Smoke-Free public places"

A restaurant isn't a public place. It's private property where the owner allows the public access to it.

Once again, a liberal position.

"Most people are. Majority wins. "

And again you show why you're not a conservative.

Conservatives believe in the concept of private property and principle instead of mob rule.

So, what do you do for a living???

Principles win...princples like private property,

So.....let me get this straight, you can wrongly blather about calling me "obnoxious", "a troll", "condescending" and "a RINO" and who's being obnoxious and condescending, again????

Oh...I'm a guy, btw.

Frankly, I am hurt and offended. The assertions that you have made on this thread with respect to the necessity and right of hunting have been refuted with links to reputable .gov and .org websites. All of us have been in the position of admitting that our perception is biased in some fashion. Please cite some of the sources that support your position.

Actually I am kidding about being hurt and offended. Just noticed that you react more to emotion than reason.

Good to know. Care to help us classify now that we have eliminated ONE dufus category?

---A restaurant is most certainly a public place. Let's not split hairs here. Here's how it works: The Restaurant can be owned privately or publicly (Corporation). Irregardless........they are open to the public and acknowledge and agree prior to opening to abide by the guidelines of the local Health and Safety Department.

Smoking is a health hazard, thus, cig smoke is being eliminated from public places....especially where people eat. But, that's another topic for another time. Many Conservatives in Washington and California voted for the Smoking Bans. New York City, too.

I also love this idea, too by Republican John Moolenaar: HERE . "Parents" should never smoke in their cars with their young children.

I hope God is watching when I hang that big head on the wall of my cabin. I got 5 days left in Iraq and in 10 days I am going to leaning up against a tree waiting for a deer like that one to walk by so I can kill it. Thanks for posting that picture, you really got my adrenaline racing.

Thank-you....for your service..!!

I hope you get a chance at a nice buck on your return.

I passed on a young, but nice tall 13-14" wide 8 pt...I've got 5 more days to hunt..!!

My good friend shot a very nice buck couple days ago....23 pts...probably 20 of them scoreable. Will score 160 inches...I'd guess. Freepmail me your e-mail address...and I'll send you a pic of it.

FRegards,

'Tis no Sport.

Does not qualify as a "Sport".

'Tis only anti-life cruelty.

I agree that its not a sport and hardly sporting until the animals have a 50-50 chance of bagging a hunter. I hate hunting personally.

That being said, the animals are hunted for their flesh and sometimes fur, and that is hardly anti-life cruelty. I hate hunting, but I love venison.
