A draft immigration bill from Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter calls for dramatic increases in legal immigration, far beyond any of the other major proposals now before Congress.
Immigration and border security have become the hottest issues in Washington, with senators and members of Congress filing bill after bill to address them. The Senate is preparing for a major debate early next year on an overhaul, including creating a new flow of foreign workers like that contained in the bill by Mr. Specter, Pennsylvania Republican.

So do I! I despise the fact the Republican party seems to think we must support RINOs like Specter at all costs.

Well, the workers to pay for Social Security are going to have to come from somewhere, and we aren't breeding them here.

This attitude is what doomed Europe. They imported so many foreigners to prop up their tax base that their culture suffered. Small amounts of immigrants allow them to assimilate. Larger waves form ghettos with lesser chances for assimilation especially with the current multicultural attitudes.

Firstly, it needs to be said NumbersUSA is anti-immigrant, albeit they like to hide behind a couple of technicalities.
There isn't a shortage of illegal aliens. There is a major shortage of immigrants due to a declining birth rate. Unfortunately, many people equate legal with illegal immigrants. Currently it takes approximately 9 to 25 years for the relatives of citizens in the Family Preference categories to immigrate to America.

Illegal immigrants do not assimilate, nor do large groups of Mexicans, whereas groups from Europe do mix into the culture.

First, lots stop, ILLEGAL ALIENS from breaking into this country - then lets talk about increasing the quote for legal immigration.
It makes me ill, to hear liberal whine about "rule of law" when it comes to Scooter Libby and then hear them mock anyone who wants to enforce the drug laws or the immigration laws.
