A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of color=000030 face=arial size=2>A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Thanks Colleen. It's a sad poem, indeed.

Hi Dolly. Just got off the phone with my cousin who lives in Ohio, she mentioned the snow and wind. Stay warm. Happy Thanksgiving!

Marissa is as brilliant as you, Amy. I'm not surprised she is doing well at school.
I'm so glad you're feeling better, and yes keep exercising. The bike is a great exercise.
OMG, you remember December 7th? My face is red right now, LOL!!!
To: DollyCali
Yikes, the weather sounds terrible.
I'll be around for Thanksgiving so I will come by and say hello.
Don't work too hard take it easy. :-)
To: DollyCali
Yep, we might get some snow tomorrow, and lots of wind. May mess up the parade if there is too much wind, but better safe then sorry.

Sounds like quite an evening. Down here in the South, this has been the coldest Fall I can remember. Only a few years ago, we were all griping about how hot the winters were, and how it wasn't cold enough, etc...now Oct. and Nov. have been colder than past Decembers and Januaries!

Hi Dolly.
The recovery is going great. I still get tired and am forced to take a couple of naps every day. I'm getting good movement with the new knee. I was on the exercise bike for 12 minutes today. When I get stiff, it hurts until I work the kinks out. I'm not using a walker but do use a cane when going out where there is a chance of getting bumped and knocked down. Have really had very few problems. Have finished taking all of the special meds. I have a few pain pills left but only take them if I really need them, otherwise I just use Tylenol. Did I give you more info than you wanted? LOL
The therapy is uhhh ..... a lot of work. :) There are several exercises that they have me do 100 times before riding the bike and being iced down. All of the exercises are designed to rebuild the muscles in the leg .... leg lifts, hamstring curls, etc. Some of them really give me a work out. In fact, on a couple I stop after 50 for a short rest before doing the last 50.

Marissa missed one dance lesson but my friend took her last Wednesday. They did not have class today; I will take her next week. She still enjoys it. I need to pay for her costume for the dance recital that is to be held in May. She is excited about being on stage. (What a show off!!!)

Good for you Amy. I am so arthritic already & when i do my jaunts on bike, hiking (now skiing) it hurts like crazy when I start out. By the time I am underway things loosen up & I do better. Your regime is good. after it is no longer REQUIRED it would be good it you could continue, as much as possible.
The dance recital sounds like fun. she is really a cutie & a genuine ham! Take lots of pix!

I recall you are in NC. I lived there for 15+ years & my son is still there .. Tobaccoville, N of Winston Salem. I loved the climate. Just enough cold so you really appreciated the warth. Spring started in Feb..
I swore I would never return to the North when I left.. Lesson to learn.. NEVER SWEAR!

I'm hoping that I can stay motivated and continue to either walk or use the exercise bike. I was not getting enough exercise and that is not good for anyone ... bad knees or not. Maybe the exercise will strenghten the left knee and I won't need any work on that one.
