Kind of reminds me of the Boston Globe headline "Mush from the Wimp" on a Carter speech. It was a "mistake" in the sense that it wasn't supposed to get printed. It was not a mistake in the sense that no one knew how it got there.

Steve D on Fox and Friends had what is probably the correct reason:

Someone was 'playing' with the X on a monitor that was not supposed to be broadcasting. Either that person or someone else inadvertently pushed the wrong control button and the image got broadcast.

The thing is: The X appeared several times over Cheney's face, but never showed either before, nor after, Cheney's appearance.

FoxNews should know about such things. Heck, they've been splattering their Fox News Alert banner to cover up live video for years.

Just my two cents,... but It's probably just a mess up and not some subliminal message. Live TV screw up s happen all the time on all networks as far as I know... but I wouldn't be surprised if it was some dumb prank/stunt pulled off by someone with an agenda... but until I get more information... It's probably an honest mistake.
