Senator Kerry, supposedly defending Rep. John Murtha, said, "I won't stand for the Swift-Boating of Jack Murtha!" As one of the 254 members of Mr. Kerry's unit in Vietnam who belonged to Swift Boat Veterans and POWs for Truth, I found Mr. Kerry's comments most ironic.
To us, Mr. Kerry's comments meant that no one should do to Mr. Murtha that which Mr. Kerry did to all of us and our fellow Vietnam veterans, living and dead. Mr. Kerry's disgraceful comments on many occasions in 1971 (while we were locked in combat), claiming falsely that we were "murdering" hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese and committing rape and mayhem on a daily basis, are a part of the public record for which he has never apologized. This might be called "Kerrying" our soldiers.
In his own strange way, in his recent comments, Mr. Kerry was trying by implication to compare himself to Mr. Murtha - the gravest of insults to Mr. Murtha, who was given a standing ovation by the House of Representatives (which then properly buried his immediate pullout suggestion 403-3). Mr. Murtha's long military record stands in stark contrast with Mr. Kerry's continuous self-promotion of his short and controversial service in our unit. More importantly, Mr. Murtha has never compared our troops in the field - now or then - to the "Army of Genghis Khan" or claimed our adversaries, whether the bloody communists and Khmer Rouge or the butchers of Al Qaeda, were simply democratic reformers. Can anyone - even in the cocoon of Washington or the incestuous world of Mainstream Media - imagine either side of the aisle spontaneously rising to clap for anything that Mr. Kerry ever did or said?

we need to hear from john o'neill again.....is he scheduled soon?
I'll certainly BUMP for John O'Neill!
Did you notice that some Republican introduced 'another' war hero Friday night. He listed his medals and they were numerous and then he announced Rep. Sam Johnson of Texas.
I respect Murtha's right to disagre - as long as he does so in good faith. At 403-3, look like most of America disagrees with him.
As for Kerry, he's still selfish - trying to weasel in drawing any equivalence between himself and Murtha.

Thanks for the ping!
ah, he was a real war hero, but not a traitor, so the MSM didn't stick around for him....
bttt
Still pounding on Kerry ping...
Ping!
You're right bitt, Murtha is all they will think about.
The only acceptable "exit strategy" is leaving after we win.

TS
Heard him on Laura Ingrham's show. Won't hear him on the msm.
I've been wondering this since late last week: what IS it about the Democrats who keep on trotting out barely known "war heroes" named John as political cover to bash the President? And at that, "heroes" of a war that America LOST (and they lost it specifically BECAUSE of the same tactics that worked then, being tried now)?
Amen to that!
And yet, Kerry's use of the verb "to swiftboat" conveys his terrified understanding of what the Swifties did in 2004.
You are right but it's the Republicans fault. They should be bringing out every Republican who served and having them speaking out, day after day! We are getting 'out-talked'!
I for the life of me cannot understand why the Republicans are so bad at fighting back against the democrats and their media accomplices. Reagan had them cowed. Every time they pulled this crap, he went on TV, explained things, and had the press and Dems run away with their tails between their legs. Granted, Bush is no Reagan, but couldn't there be some way to magnificently get the points across??? They don't even seem to try.
Yep. They are finally coming around but they have to realize that for a lot of sheep, if the msm doesn't cover it, it didn't happen.
I guess it's just the power of the 'word'. They have been talking, [lying], for months and they just keep on while nobody has been doing much on our side.
If you tell a lie often enough, people will believe it. The MSM is on the dems side so everybody hears it. Thankfully Cheney and some others are beginning to speak out.
I've never understood why the President puts up with lies without speaking out!! He needs to change his tone.
