CNN MARKS CHENEY: NETWORK FLASHES 'X' OVER VP'S FACE DURING LIVE SPEECH
**Exclusive**
At 11:04:45 AM ET Monday CNN was airing Vice President Dick Cheney's speech live from the American Enterprise Institute in Washington -- when a large black 'X' repeatedly flashed over the vice president's face!
The 'X' over Cheney's face appeared each time less than a second, creating an odd subliminal effect.
As this DRUDGE REPORT screen capture reveals, while one 'X' flashed over Cheney's face CNN ran a headline at the bottom of its screen: "CHENEY: I DO NOT BELIEVE IT IS WRONG TO CRITICIZE."
One top White House source expressed concern about what was aired over CNN.
"Is someone in Atlanta trying to tell us something?"
A CNN spokesman did not return repeated calls late Monday night.

I'm sure the moonbats will get a laugh out of it until the CNN perps get a pink slip because of pressure from the Secret Service's questioning.

The X overlayed was set on a timer, so it still may have been intentional. The text itself however was a technical message.

On one of the other blogs linked from here, someone mentioned that a CNN tech' might have pulled this as a prank. 'Feedback Doctor' mentioned the possibility that a control room operator could lose their job over a snafu like that-- even if it really weren't intentional. I agree that these sorts of incidental flubs never seem to happen to folks on the Left. One of those "plausible deniability" scenarios...

Well, I feel we need to pursue this on the Blogosphere like the Dan Rathergate issue...and see that this "prankster" is fired. We have to send a clear message that the media is at least "supposed" to be unbiased...or boycotts of advertisers are in order.

I been reading the posts (not all) and I don't see where anyone points out the obvious...
Everyone is trying to understand what the black writing is. The black writing is simply just the same as the white i.e. "IT IS WRONG TO CRITICIZE" but set to black and slightly offset from the white so that it has the effect of blocking it out so what the viewer actually can read see and read is Cheney with a big black X on his face and the words: CHENEY: I DO NOT BELIEVE.
To me this is obvious and if someone already pointed this out then I apologize for repeating the point.
I think that usually politicians give a copy of the speech to the media before they actually deliver the speech and this was probably done with CNN, thereby giving them time to design and carry out this blatant and vile attack on the Vice President of The United States of America.
Will CNN ever live to regret this vile and totally unacceptable behavior? I doubt it, to them and their viewer they are heroes for it.

You are probably correct. This is looking more and more like a childish prank.
What I find amusing is- CNN may continue to call this a "glitch" all they want to- but is there any doubt in anyone's mind that the Secret Service and likely the FBI are all over this. CNN can claim innocence or perhaps it was just a childish prank, but neither the Secret Service or the FBI, considers a threat to the VP just a innocent prank and CNN will be investigated- whether CNN likes it or not.

Just about 20 years ago, I was recording an entertainment program on a VCR for my sister who was away visiting relatives. I barely notice something flash across the screen. When I looked at the tape it was the symbol for the Dalkon Shield.

what would work is to find a frame a second or two earlier that doesn't have the X or graphics (but everything else the
same or pretty close), align the two pictures, then subtract the frames leaving a difference frame. there are numerous scientific packages that can do this...

Leftist do not play 'innocent' pranks. . .and of course, they can be investigated; but what cannot be measured or deduced; is how many were influenced by watching CNN's endorsement of Vice-President Cheney.
Who needs a 'terror network' when we have CNN - and the rest of the Leftist establishment for that matter?

That's what he will talk about on Hannity & ColmesI stopped watching H&C about three years ago. Hannity is gutless. And usually the show turns into a bunch of morons arguing in a mindless tit-fizzy. I have run thousands of meetings in my career. I would never allow the behaviour that I have seen on H&C.
