Michael Scanlon, a former aide to U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay, pleaded guilty Monday to conspiring to bribe public officials, a charge growing out of the government investigation of attempts to defraud Indian tribes and corrupt a member of Congress.

SCANLON WAS A FORMER AIDE TO DELAY WHEN HE COMMITTED THESE CRIMES!He had left Delay's office to work for Abramoff the lobbyist. But the Assinine Press and PMSNBC can't sell that crap, so they have to associate it with Delay.
I wonder if some camera man or reporter ever leaves their lameass network and goes to work for a Wal-Mart and then he gets arrested if they'll say "FORMER PMSNBC CAMERA MAN ARRESTED FOR URINATING IN PUBLIC"?

Absurd on its face. How can anyone possibly corrupt a member of Congress?

Right. He WAS at one time a Delay aide. HE QUIT. Some time later, he went to work for Abramoff...this would be like writing a story on Osama bin Laden with this headline:
FORMER LONDON RESIDENT IN CHARGE OF AL QAEDA

I don't think he was an aide - court documents said he was a consultant. Can you be an aide and have a consultant business on the side ..??
And .. Scanlon admitted he did this with Abramhoff - not DeLay. E-mail supported that.
I don't think there is anyway Tom would have known about this deal between Scanlon and Abramhoff.

I agree...that is my point...but the LSM blows this up into a DELAY story. It isn't.

The DUmmies are hyperventilating *big time* on this one. It's their top breaking news item.
They'll never learn.

I think Fred Barnes mentioned this tonight - saying they were trying to link this to DeLay, but he couldn't find any connection at all.

Yeah. The DUmmies are saying that this could cause federal charges to be pressed against DeLay. They're looking sillier and sillier all the time.

Can you please cut down on the screaming and shouting? We can still read at normal levels. And we're not deaf yet.
