Abu Grahib was the beginning, I believe. Fat Teddy screaming on the Senate floor about womens underwear while Berg was getting his head sawed off must have been very demoralizing..
Can you explain to me how Chris Matthews is still on the air? He draws less then half a mil. His show gets less then half the viewers Fox shows draw. How does he keep from getting canned by MSNBC?
Great post
I read an article the other day that detailed the "torture" the CIA regularly uses on prisoners. It was so mild, I found myself horribly disappointed that more extreme attempts were not being made to extract information.
The absolute worst of the "torture" was waterboarding, which is used in training for some of our soldiers so they know how to resist interrogation should they be captured.
Yes, as is the denial of the dropping support for the President and the war in Iraq. But I am being duly chastised by all of these statisticians here for suggesting that every poll in the country (including Fox) is anything other than a contrived scheme by the MSM.
IMHO they are just not thinking all they want at present is Bush and Cheney out of the way they are not really thinking who would be there instead of them.
Yeah, even his slickness was not as crummy as President. With clinton it is all about ego and Money and with Carter it is all about ego. It is all about Jimmah geting credit for something, ANYTHING! Hey Jimmah you were famous for "lusting in your heart", or mind or whatever you lust in. He thinks that his lightweight son is going to be successful running for office. Fat Chance!!!
Kind of courious how they think that is going to happen when they do not even have the guts to vote their talking points on Iraq. If the Repbs are doing so bad explain why the Dems voted Republican lite Friday nite on THEIR issue??????
Yes she has confirmed that on a thread where some freepers got angry with her for saying it.
I think most freepers know us well enough that we are not part of the negative group that regularly criticizes the president and it's most unfortunate that anyone who is trying to tell the truth about this matter is taken to task by other freepers.
You will understand if I am a bit dubious that "We Freepers" did a lot of checking when the polls favored Bush.
It was a marine talking truth to a former marine
actually, it was a marine hoping to have his congresswoman speak his truth for him to a former marine.....
but, as we all learned Friday night, it's ok to call the president a liar on the floor of congress, it's ok to say that the president misled us, manipulated reports etc. all of that is ok....just don't ever, ever say anything that might even slightly hurt the feelings of a fellow congressperson because that is not allowed!
You know the answer to that question; to be painted as a cut and run politician will not play well to the base of either party except the extreme left which is approximately 10% of the Democrat's party base.
What I am talking about is the lies about the mission that have been permitted to stand for well over a year now with very little defense coming from our side in Washington, until last week.
You may take this any way you wish and paint it any way you wish with regard to my posts. But I will assume that you don't think that Ollie North has a hidden agenda when he wrote his newspaper article last week which detailed how low morale is among our soldiers in Iarq.
Sounds good to me. I think your analysis is right on. I have thought for a long time as many freepers have that. With Porter Goss, COndi, and Boulton in those high places that the Butt kicking started many moons ago and will continue for awhile. all those leftover liberals at State, CIA, And FBI are probably watching their backs everyday wondering when they will be discovered as freaking leakers and traitors. I hope it is a wholesale butt kicking housecleaning.
I distinctly heard the woman reading the statement about "cowards cut and run but Marines never do", that "the Marine" was a Congress person. And .. I surmised he made the statement because he couldn't be there in person.
I am more jaded and cynical and simply refuse to believe that billions and billions of dollars were floating around all over the planet courtesy of Saddam and absolutely NO ONE in American politics knew a thing about it.
My new mantra? FOLLOW THE MONEY.
This is an excellent observation. I frequently argue with my friends that the Democratic Party and the DNC, as they are currently operated, have far less resemblance to a political party than they do to a criminal syndicate.
If they did not have the protection and immunity provided by their political status and connections, they would both be easy targets for criminal prosecution under the RICO statutes, and others.
I have only been responding to pings and haven't been reading the thread, M, and so am not helping you out much here.
But it's a sad day in America when we have freepers who think that our military is HAPPY that lies are being told about them, their mission and the war in general.
The politically naive and wishful thinkers may re-think their positions once they read Ollie North's article about this matter. Or they may be so entrenched in their positions they will just deny the undeniable. It flies in the face of human nature for people to think that these lies are a GOOD thing.
And considering that most of us agree that Republicans are spineless, I find this denial about the sinking morale fascinating.
This is Ollie North's article (which I'm sure will be parsed by those wishing the facts were otherwise).

Well .. "Timmy and the other jackels" can't do anything to stop the public seeing those headlines.
That's why they're all rushing around trying to amend what they said .. as usual.
LMAO!
That being the case, when the polls continually showed a close election, the President should have easily won by 20 or 30 points. Why were they relatively accurate then, and in 2002, but suddenly they are not now relatively accurate? I notice that no Republican on the talking head circuit is saying much about the polls because from what I have heard the Republican internal polls show pretty much the same thing. BTW, there are few more conservative sites than Free Republic. But the members poll show only 51% strongly approve of Bush's performance. That should be pretty telling.
