Fox News doesn't conduct the polls, but rather a opinion-based research polling company called 'Opinion Dynamics' based in Massachusetts. Fox News pays the company to do their polling. And the FoxNews poll last year had Ho Chi Kerry winning by 2%.

That's exactly right. Professional companies do the polling. They may have personal political philosophies, but I doubt that thousands of employees of all of these polling companies have suddenly gotten together and decided to make up polling data to show that the President's approval has dropped 35 points over a year and a half. It's simply not believable. Yes you can question a 2% error, but when the error rate is a plus or minue 5 points, the 2% difference is clearly explainable. 35 points by every polling group in the country is not. We need to be realistic about the polls and at least understand that approval of both the President and the Iraq war have dropped substantially since 2002.

My post was in relation to the above. You stated doubts on the political mendacity of polling organizations and I wanted to show that rampant bias does exist. I stand my my statement that conservatives don't need media polls to bolster our position.

And you end your rant by inferring that I see everything rosy. Not true, I'd rather work with my team to correct things than attack perceived weaknesses.

Since you've cloaked yourself in righteous indignation, you're right, we have nothing more to discuss. For the record, I noticed your condescension also.

Oh, I fully understand how some pollsters over-sample Democrats, Johnnie. Have you see the polls that don't do that? Have you talked with the military?

This denial and assuming the military is just happy that lies are being told about their mission are naive at best.

Yes and when the Commander-in-Chief in the middle of a war barely defeats a leftist like Kerry who ran one of the most inept campaigns ever, then that is nothing to crow about.

And increased Republican margins in the House and Senate, unprecedented since FDR.

And, of course, the MSM was also unprecented in its tanking for the Democratic candidate, even moreso than Clinton back in 1992.

Yes, I just got back in and can see that, M. I guess we'll just have to assume that the military is just delighted that lies are being told about their mission and darned few people are stepping up to the plate to counter those lies. /extreme sarcasm

And I should have mentioned, we have patriot and military man, Ollie North, who has confirmed the same things about the sinking morale of our military.

The denial of this on this thread alone is astounding.

We (Freepers) believed the polls when the participants were equally divided between Reps, Dems, Inds. 29% of a polling group being Republican is a poor sample and the results are a "lie"!

I am sorry she asked for it to be expunged from the record;

I'm sorry to hear that. I don't think she should have caved in to the Democrat phony outrage.

Sen John Warner must have something to cover up. Or he has been drinking DC water so long he has become infected. Either way, he is a problem rather than a solution.

I would submit that the horrific media coverage, accusations of torture, and the democrats constantly saying we are wrong is contributing to that. Yes, morale is low, but I believe it is because of the Hillarys, Kerrys and the MSM..

Oh, it's definitely because of the left and MSM. This could and should be countered by Republicans and I think we saw the beginning of that offensive last week. It needs to continue every week.

Better late than never response. I just had Company come. The Polls are run by the same MSM/DNC, and we have noted who they are polling and in some circumstances it has been as low as 23% Pubbie. We also know that Republicans and Conservatives screen their calls when they are home and most of the time they are working and the Pollsters do not talk to Voice Mail or answering Machines. It is foolish to completely ignore the Polls but I do not put much stock in them either. Just look who the Pollster is and look at the inside figures, and it gives you a picture of huge bias in Polls. They are guilty again of making and making up the News instead of reporting it. I wonder how these idiots talk to their kids? Do they ever tell the truth about anything? If one of these Reporters told me it was going to rain tomorrow I would plan for a Picnic for a Dozen people.

Same question as before. "Congressman Hayworth, what legislation currently stands before the Congress, presented by you, to address this problem"?

Keep hearing all this whining about Bush from the usual suspects. Funny how they never ever seem to recognized Congress is a CO-EQUAL branch of Govt with equal responsiblities for the problem. Amazing how tough talking but completely inactive so many "Conservative" heros are on the border issue. Funny how the hyper critics can never seem to hold the line they demand President Bush tow. But then, like most Conservatives, I suspect the critics think that by blaming Bush that excuses them from taking any real action that may cost them votes.

No, I stated that a 2% error is understandable, but that a 35% error from every polling group in the country was dubious. And I'm sure you're equally dubious of polls that reflected American support for the President and war in 2002.

And you end your rant by inferring that I see everything rosy. Not true, I'd rather work with my team to correct things than attack perceived weaknesses.

Didn't realize I was ranting. I thought maybe it was you who was doing that. My mistake. As for attacking perceived weaknesses, I never consider strategies by the Democrats as perceived weaknesses. They should be taken seriously and countered.

Since you've cloaked yourself in righteous indignation, you're right, we have nothing more to discuss. For the record, I noticed your condescension also.

Funny, but for someone to come onto this thread and immediately attack me on a false premise (polls), you have a strange sense of who is claiming righteous indignation. As for condescension, you are quite able to exude enough for the both of us.

Mystery-Ak who is married to I think a Sargent in the army who served for over a year in Iraq has also confirmed with the mixed messages coming from Politicians that moral is low in certain quarters.

If they do they they will want to start impeachment charges on Bush but they want Cheney out of the way first.

BUT, what does that get them, they don't get to pick the new Veep. Pres appoints and the Senate consents - do they honestly think the Senate will push for putting in a RAT as Veep? I just never understand the RAT mind. They would have to take them out simultaneously and then they would be stuck with

Speaker of the House - Hastert, next

President Pro Tempore of the Senate - Ted Stevens ,

and then Secretary of State - Rice.

Where do the RATS win here other than getting rid of their intense hate of Bush?
