Hi,

just thought I would congratulate you and all of the patriots involved in this Operation Chirstmas. And of course wish all of you a Merry Christmas, too.

Thank you so much for doing this, daybreakcoming!

These FReepmails to our troops that you will be printing out will be wonderful morale boosters for our adopted units in Tal Afar, in Mosul, in Kirkuk, at Ramadi, 2 in Baghdad, at Bagram air base near Kabul, Afghanistan, and a small little band posted to Kosovo.

There are thousands of soldiers that these messages will reach in the war zones.

Any FReeper who has left over Christmas cards from last year, please sign one with a quick line or two of thanks and appreciation to our troops and mail it to one of the captains for the Christmas projects or to me. (Just FReepmail daybreakcoming or me for an address.)

I will be making up boxes of Christmas cards and last minute DVD movie additions to go to 8 different units, so those who want to can mail up to 8 cards to be divided into my 8 boxes.

These boxes of cards and movies and computer games will be mailed out on December 3, so your cards to the troops have to reach me by December 2. If you mail them to me by next Saturday, November 26, by first class mail, they should reach me in time here in California.

I would also like to ask particularly for drawings and homemade cards from children, your own, your neighbor's, or children attending your homeschools or regular schools.
Thank you notes to our troops at Thanksgiving would be a wonderful project and gesture. Our team captains and I would love to have some to include in our boxes.

Thanks to all for your wonderful support in the past. Please ping everyone you know to this thread.

Here's the thread where all the packages of goodies are going out to the troops...including 8 Christmas trees!

Care Packages for our Troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, 2005

Cheers!
Patty

Well, I guess I'll have to give high marks for consistency. FR has "rallied" to another "Support the Troops" thread as it almost always does - weakly.

But we are asking an awful lot here - a FReepmail!

Attention Needed!

Here is a chance to send a holiday message of support to the troops. All you need do is write a message-just a few words- and freepmail it to daybreakcoming (HERE). She will take care of everything else. So while you make your plans and fill your calendars with invitations to parties - feel good knowing you did something to thank the folks who are watching your back this holiday season. I know there will be a bunch of threads re: how you can help our troops- let us see if we can meet on as many as possible.. come on.. it will be fun! ;]

Thanks!
Thanks for the ping Star cmc!

freepmail sent. thank you for doing this -- what a great idea!

I'm surprised there isn't more traffic here. I didn't 'see' this thread until Diva's ping. Could this and the other good ideas down thread maybe be subject of a "Freeper Canteen" lead in, to get more eyes and folks onto this?
