Professor to soldiers: Kill officers in Iraq (Campus Commie Alert)
WorldNetDaily.com ^ | November 18, 2005 | Kevin McCullough

Always remember this: "Tolerance – the great "virtue" of the American left today – never applies to those who do not share their opinion." Also remember this: "Jerky college professors who are intolerant of others always believe themselves superior to everyone else."

Picture your college-age daughter working hard in extracurricular activities to bring a much respected war hero to her college campus to speak to students about his experiences. When she innocently invites faculty to attend, she receives a reply that not only threatens her, but proceeds to suggest that America's fighting men and women commit treason and execute their commanding officers.

Think it wouldn't happen? It did ... this week.

Rebecca Beach, a freshman at Warren Community College in New Jersey, had worked hard to invite the decorated hero of the War on Terror Lt. Col. Scott Rutter to appear yesterday to discuss the progress being made in Iraq. In response to her invite, Beach received this: "Real freedom will come when soldiers in Iraq turn their guns on their superiors."

John Daly, the professor who responded, went on to tell Rebecca "that he will ask students in his English and writing classes to boycott the event and also vowed "to expose [her] right-wing, anti-people politics until groups like [Rebecca's] won't dare show their face on a college campus."

It makes you want to bring back the HUAC, and aim it at the colleges.

I wonder?

Would it be protected "Free Speech" if one were to put up posters all over the campus --- with this puke's picture and statement, and the comment:

"This Professor won't quit spewing this bull shit, until someone kicks his ass".

I'd bet Granny's rum bearing cow, that the poor slob that put up the poster would be shackled and jailed in a New York minute --- yet, the "Professor" can suggest MURDER and it's "okay"...

We've allowed Academia to go nuts.....
They're out of control, and NEED their asses kicked and fired.

Sorry, Leftists by definition are incapable of being intolerant because they are after all advocating the only Correct point of view. Sort of like how everyone can perpetrate racially motivated violence, but only certain demographics can actually perpetrate hate crimes.

Hmm...if this were not secular but double-standards used to enforce a particular religion, whom would this emulate?

the mother and fathers of officers should walk into his classroom and ask which of their sons should have been first in line to be shot... this f'ing pussy of a prof would sh#t his pants...

Gawd this world is going nuts. Anything good, righteous, and American is under attack by the psycho Democrats and libs. they want a civil war in this country... they've edged right to the point of advocating violence against conservatives and in some instances have shown themselves capable of pushing the envelope.

Well the funny part of this is that from what I remember most of the conservatives really don't mind a good fight. The thing is these pathetic simps will hide behind the skirts of tort lawyers, ACLU, ATF, FBI and all the other agencies that willingly went along with the "Centralized" government mind set.

thanks for allowing the rant... my blood pressure is now 220/100...

I know, In fact, I've already responded. This is what I sent to the good Professor:

By now, you may have already received a number of letters expressing disagreement with the statements that you have made to Ms. Rebecca Beach. While America isn't perfect, it's still a fine place. One of the reasons why it's a fine place is because of something called 'freedom of speech', which basically means tolerating the right of everyone to speak their mind, even if you don't agree with it. You've been able to enjoy that right by speaking whatever you wished to, and in return, is it really too much to ask that you please extend the right to those who hold differing opinions, such as Ms. Beach Civil disagreement is a hallmark of a free and healthy society, IMHO. You claim that Ms. Beach has been spouting "fascist propaganda", or something along those lines. How exactly is what Ms. Beach has been saying "fascist"? Did she advocate the mass-murder of Jews? Has she gone on record as saying that we should invade and conquer Canada? Did she say that we should disarm all Americans, no matter whether they were responsible, law-abiding citizens of sound mind or not? If anything, refusing to tolerate different opinions than what one holds is what's truly fascist. BTW, you claim that capitalism has killed more people than communism. Might I suggest taking a look at the excellent and highly regarded "The Black Book of Communism"? It's got all sorts of interesting facts and data. Also, if Marxism is the solution, then how come that whenever it's been tried out it always results in failure, poverty, and mass murder? You should thank God that you live in the US, and not North Korea, for example. If you critize Kim Jong-Il, you would probably be quite fortunate if you were merely sent to prison.

We were once Americans. If we have been undermined by our politicians and the Supreme Court it is only because we allowed it. We have what we tolerate ....and ONLY what we tolerate. Stand and be heard. Stand up and do something.

I wonder how this 'professor' would react if someone sent an E-mail saying:

America would be better off if students would bring guns to class to off professors they do not agree with?

Professor John Daly does not desrve to be a teacher. Instead of informing students on the various points of view on any given issue, so they can understand and arrive at individually generated conclusions of their own, he insists on keeping students ignorant with his own personal polemic.

In doing this he disqualifies himself as an educator. As a result he needs to be fired or terminated as an educator
who insists on ignorance in his students, rather than imparting a way for students to arrive at their own wisdom and knowledge. His is a culture of hate and intolereance, and pedantic jingoism. F__k him and the horse he rode in on.

Warren Community College of New Jersey appears not to be a fit place for students, but is simply the barnyard of
" Animal Farm."

Here's the college response on their web site:

For immediate release:

WCCC investigating controversial e-mail
Adjunct instructor’s comments gain national attention

WASHINGTON TWP. (Nov. 18, 2005) – Officials at Warren County Community College are investigating political comments about the war in Iraq made by an adjunct instructor to a student via an e-mail message.

Responding earlier this week to a student’s invitation to attend a student club event, John Daly, an adjunct instructor of Basic Writing and Developmental English, e-mailed the student with a host of his own personal beliefs. The student club event, sponsored by the Young American’s for Freedom, featured Iraq war veteran Lt. Col. Scott Rutter as a guest speaker.

WCCC President Dr. William Austin personally welcomed guests to the event, held on Thursday, and introduced Rebecca Beach, president and secretary of the newly formed club. Lt. Col. Rutter’s talk was well received, and deemed a success by attendees.

WCCC is further investigating Mr. Daly’s conduct and his expression of views in the classroom and on campus.

Indeed, Mr. Daly’s comments have caused much controversy on and off campus. Dr. Austin said, “I personally find Mr. Daly’s e-mail disgraceful and offensive, yet I must maintain that the college be a place for free expression, ideas, and open debate.”

Dr. Austin added, “We must remember that Mr. Daly is just one instructor out of many here. These are apparently his personal political views. He does not represent the college’s views, mission, and core values. We are a small community college and are here to serve the community and will continue to do so.”

The college will continue to keep its pulse on this issue while maintaining its high standards of professionalism and integrity of all concerned, noted Dr. Austin.

WCCC Chairman of the Board, Ed Smith, said, “We are fortunate to live in a world where so many brave men and women are willing to fight and die for our freedoms, including the right to express one’s opinions.”

After going for a run along Mission Bay this AM, I was walking across a small parking lot to get in my car. A man and a woman about 30 were taking bikes off of their car rack.

The man was wearing a crimson red "CHE" t-shirt, and I got into it with him. Said in a loud voice that Che was a mass murderer who ordered thousands of innocent people to be shot by firing squads.

He said it's America, and he has the right to wear any shirt he wants.

I agreed, and loudly said I also have the right to call him out, he can wear a Stalin or Hitler shirt as well. I asked him if that is what he wants for America: firing squads for your political enemies.

I'm done with playing nice with these domestic enemis and traitorous vermin.

John Peter Daly
Adjunct Instructor of English

B.A., Kean University
M.A., California State University at Northridge (magna cum laude)

Professor Daly received his MA in Linguistics from California State University , Northridge in 2000. <

His 12 years experience working in public health research adds another dimension to his interests. His research background translates into years of hands-on experience in writing research documents and papers in the professional world. Two video-workbook collections that he produced and wrote have won awards and are currently used by the Canadian Department of Health.

So which is it? Is he a "professor" or is he an "instructor"? In point of fact...

Can you say, "Technical Writer"? A linguist, of all people, should know that words really do have meanings.

Also note that this "professor" only obtained an MA five years ago, and does not have a PhD; nor is there any mention of one in progress.
