Yesterday Peter Yost co-authored a piece on the Wilson/Plame matter. In it he argues the Plame case investigation will not die and says:
A group of former intelligence officers urged President Bush not to pardon anyone convicted of leaking Valerie Plame’s name to reporters and to pull security clearances of any White House officials implicated in the investigation.
Yost is being strikingly strikingly disingenuous in promoting the propagandistic , partisan flaying of Libby and the call for the President to out-of-hand relinquish an executive perogative. He knows full well that Larry C. Johnson whom he cites and the other members of the VIPS group, of which Johnson is a leading spokesman, are fervently anti-war, anti-Semitic, anti-Bush cohorts of Joseph Wilson and his wife. They are intimately involved in this entire Wilson/Plame hoax. Indeed, they appear to be the likely sources for the leaks against the Administration I first noted in November of 2004. It is beyond odd that the VIPS have been allowed by a complicit press to make so much of this non-leak since a leading member of it, Ray McGovern openly called for agents to leak secret information damaging to the President to stop the war. Mr. Yost surely knows this and has failed to inform his readers of this. Most of the press, continue to cite them and anti-war Clinton DCI Stansfield Turner without ever disclosing their bias or anti-Administration activities.

I'm seeing fewer article referring to "Flame" as being "undercover" and "covert." I read one today that actually referred to her as being nothing more than an "analyst." It's time for the Senate to call the Director of the CIA forward and tell us just what was Little Val's status. This DemocRAT crap needs to be put to bed. America has bigger problems to be concerned about.
Pardon them of what? Shouldn't there at least be evidence of a crime before we start worrying about the pardon?

Here was modern Lawrence of Arabia (IN Joe's mind), in his white sportscar, coming to work for John Kerry....A handsome, articulate experienced loyalist. He had to remain a "Secret Envoy"? No way!! Sooner or later he would come out. He had a book coming out and the promise of an appointment by Kerry.
I think the 5 years was passed, Valerie had been de-classified "in the spring", prior to Joe's article and was re-classified a couple of days after Joe's article. We call it "tampering".
The problem was getting the leak relocated to the Whitehouse. No problem. The "friend" on the street would "trap" Novak and "Cooper" would "involve" Rove and Libby. Rove (the first call) was the target.
The whole thing evolves about what Joe himself said: That Novak leaked Valerie's status on July 8th to "Joe's" secret friend. Novak smelled a "plant" and wrote his article to cover his a**. Joe talked to Novak at least twice before the article. So Joe KNEW the article was coming. And yet he was shocked by it and NEVER TOLD THE PARTY??
Woodward, Vallely, Miller have all blown Joe's timeline.
Cooper called Rove on July 11th....before Novak's article. But Cooper did something strange. He called the Whitehouse switchboard and was "transferred" to Rove's office. The call was not logged in Rove's file because of that....hence, the little asian girl?? appeared "very late" before Fitz to tell how the phone system worked.
Cooper called Libby on July 12th. Rove and Libby were now "involved". Cooper had dropped Valerie's name.
And yet, no one called Joe. Amazing!!
This boondoggle and wrasslin go together. Lot's of political wrasslin goin' on with similar dramatic pratfalls and posturing.

Is there a link to the mentioned article in the LA Times?
I'd love to see a list of those people who recommended that no one be pardoned in this matter. No one has even been convicted yet, although that little matter seems to have escaped some folks within the CIA.
And did these same "public servants" also protest and decry the scores of rapscallions Clinturd pardoned before he was pried out of office? I thought not.
