GOP Pulls Fast One... Tells Dems: Pull Troops Now? Okay, then let's vote!!!!! Tonight. 7 p.m. in House... Ultimate showdown...
The C-Spamette is giving a brief capsule of what's going on. She's giving the same liberal line.....Murtha is centrist, veteran, Marine, centrist, hawk, centrist looked on with respect by others in .....if she calls him centrist once more my head will explode..........
Oh,oh, something else just came on S-Spam, "Military Operations in Iraq" lecture by some Colonel in Iraq.
Leni
Hey Boss, whatya want me ta do with the stiff???
Murtha on Hardball: "Victory is not a strategy."
You might be onto something here.
My Marine son is coming home for Thanksgiving.
EXCELLENT, Tell him thank you for his service to our country. God Bless you and him. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. My family will be without our Marine, but we will be praying for him and his troops.
what is the url
Can the Senate do this also?
Oh that's great to have your son come home for Thanksgiving! How nice.
I just need to change computers so I can get to the one with the TV in the room. The stream at CSpan didn't work.
Murtha's key positions in the House:
For first Iraq war -OK
For use of force in Iraq, 2002 -OK
Against using troops in Bosnia - OK
Against using troops in Somalia - OK
For re-instatement of the draft - Not necessarily
For Alaska oil drilling - OK
Against Bush tax cuts - whassup with that?
Against human cloning -OK
Against partial-birth abortion -OK
For loosening gun restrictions - OK
For a dumb dem - not a bad record. Why did he go and do this? For Oil?
I'm a "veteran" musician, but it doesn't mean that every musician I ever played with was any good, or even had the "right" views on music. Some were idiots, some addicts. But I would not go down the road of trying to tarnish Murtha or discredit HIM. Discredit what he said, which is as wrong as when Gen. Sheridan said "there's no good Indian but a dead Indian" (or words very close, for your perfectionists).
Welcome one and all.
(I think the "fun" part is what bothers "them" most.....LOL)
Good.
We now have "a mob of two"
[Congressional Record: November 17, 2005 (Senate)]
[Page S13067-S13068] - SCHEDULEMr. FRIST. Mr. President, in addition to that, I know everybody is concerned about travel plans and when we are going to leave. I have been very clear throughout that we have business to do. This is the last legislative effort before we leave for Christmas, but it is also important that we recognize we still have four conference reports that are open that we are waiting to bring and take to the floor. So I encourage our colleagues to try to close those reports as soon as possible. Again, there are four that are outstanding.
In addition, I made it very clear that we are going to address the PATRIOT Act legislation before we leave. There are good discussions underway. I know those discussions were continuing late into last night. I encourage all of our colleagues to understand the importance of that legislation. We want to get it right and make sure that it is in good shape to bring to the floor, but we do need to address that before we leave.
Hillary showed him his FBI file?
Is it a drink? If so, I may need it.....LOL.
Murtha said something that struck me as very odd. He said that he made the department of defense give a man a purple heart or he was going to give this man his own.
Well, wouldn't that be wrong? You make the department of defense give a person a purple heart if they didn't qualify for it to begin with?
It makes no difference to me either way, but I would think someone would call him on that.
See the address line at the top of your computer screen? It says something like http://freerepublic.com/perl/post?id etc.?
That is an url.
If you click that "http url" you can copy what you clicked, and post the link on another thread.
Make that three!
This is exactly the point. They cannot win. They can't defeat the resolution, but if they go along with it, they lose $$$ and support in their districts, creating more GOP seats. I like it. I like it a lot.
