Ironic, you mention whipping. The wagon trains that set out on the Oregon Trail often including the warning that any rapist would receive 39 lashes a day for three days, then banishment, naked except for a loin cloth. I don't ever recall ever reading that it was applied.

Dogs can be trained to do this, quite proficiently. It's painless for the dog, but I don't know if it can be done to death.

No one will be holding their breath waiting for critical editorials about recognizing evil people and protecting the young against these the evil ones.
