He's a twit.
"The voting bloc known as the religious right must be stopped ..."
A real fan of democracy there.
An atheist hiding behind a phony church.
No, the "religious right" (better known as traditional Americans) must stop socialist, atheistic, gender-bending scum like Lynn in order to save this country. And make no mistake Mr. Lynn, we will stop you and your ilk one way or another.
One way, or another.
Note how the article uses the title "minister" for him. As if he is religious himself.
You got that right!
It must be getting close to Christmas because there has been a Barry Lynn sighting.
"And make no mistake Mr. Lynn, we will stop you and your ilk one way or another."
Count me in!
Yeah, what's he a "Reverend" of anyway? Like Sharpton and Jackson, I guess he just appropriates the title as a cover.
He reminds me a lot of Farrakhan. Whipping up histeria while passing around the hat.
He has a theology degree from Boston University and is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ. It's not a cheap, fake "minister" out of the back of Rolling Stone. He has also held several positions within the national church, including being their legislative counsel.
He is also co-author of a book that helps explain an individual's religious rights. He also worked on religious freedom cases for the ACLU (yes, the ACLU has many times stepped up to protect a Christian's religious freedom).
So, no, he isn't a fraud, just very annoying.
Religious right must be stopped? Sounds alarming to me. What are they proposing, that we not vote? If GWB or some other Republican said something like "Godless liberals must be prevented from voting," can you imagine the firestorm that would result??
Lynn was on the Morton Downey Jr show many years ago when he said he did not approve of porn featuring underage youths, but once it was published, he so believes in freedom of expression that he would defend the right of the publishers. The man thinks our Constitution and nation are so weak that our very freedom would be torn apart if this filth is banned. I say we the Constitution is strong, and will easily withstand such "censorship." Some of the kids victimized though, might not survive.
There's nothing 'reverend' about old Barry. Sure don't want to be standing next to him come judgment day. Might get hit by the shrapnel.
I guess that depends on how you define 'fraud.' Generally, people who are called 'minister' or 'reverend' are thought to be Christians. So yes, he could be called a fraud.
"A real fan of democracy there."
Not to mention he's overlooked about a half-dozen Constitutional rights: freedom of association, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, right to vote, etc.
We're having too many babies to be stopped!
Other than hype, these nuts can't point to a single advancement of Christianity in American Society.
