A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

What you see is not always what you see. Wait and see, and you will see what I see.
You may think the picture below is just a snowy bunch of black and white specks, but come closer.... closer.... closer.... come closer, until you're about six to ten inches from your monitor. Are you there? Now you may need to sorta cross your eyes and stare in the middle of the picture for just a bit. Now back up...you should see an object jump forward, leaving the background far behind. Do you see what I see? (Dolly, you will like this one.) :)
Here's one in color, and it's a nice picture by itself - even more fun when you see what you'll see when you do what you did before. :)
Just one more, because I don't want your eyes to hurt like mine did when I was searching for stereograms.
A cup of tea, anyone?
Have fun! Tell me what you saw in the pictures!
Billie

Hello, Billie:
I'll have to take a Rain check
On the tests, since I have to go to work
I have an odd ability, a little bit more than a quirk
To spot the planes we work on returning late at night
Through the sound of its engines and wingtip lights
Buying us a few moments to be ready and in place
While I drive the "Follow Me" truck and the plane taxis to chase.

Stopping back in for a spot of tea. I'll pour.
I see two gardners (in straw hats of course) - you only see one?
Only saw one gardener in a straw hat and two birds or butterflies.
BTW, received the following in an e-mail this morning...
SOLDIER'S REASON
Some wonder why we fight
So far away from home
Why we give our blood
For those we've never known
We fly across the oceans
To meet our deadly foes
On their lands and cities
Instead of on our shores
We fight for others' freedom
To ensure our own survival
We fight for them today
So we don't fight for us tomorrow
We could serve at home
Away from all the trouble
Secure in our own freedoms
In our happy little bubble
But if we don't meet them far away
We'll surely meet them here
With rounds going through our windows
Threatening those we hold dear
So even though we hate it
Being thousands of miles away
We're thankful that we're there
Holding the wicked at bay
And when you see some Soldiers
Relaxing in their homes
Thank them for their service
In the combat zones
We may be home today
We may be gone tomorrow
Every day we serve
For the freedom of those who follow
- A Soldier

I remember when those "Magic Eye" pics were the rage in the early or mid 90s.

Look into my eyes........
you are getting sleepier.... sleepier....
To: Billie
Very well, I'm back.
The first one seemed to me at first like a sea of people (souls). But then whatever that is began to grow! Careful!
The second; it is like I'm on this side of that fence, and can't see clearly because for some reason my eyes are all teary.
The third; don't ask!
Very odd....
To: Jack Deth
Thank you so very much for your poem! Kudos!

Hi sistah. Had meetings all morning and just getting here. Tried the three pics while getting strange looks from my secretary. Maybe I'll send her on an errand and try back :o) !!!!! Anyway, GREAT JOB as always!!!!!!

Thanks for the poem, Jack. You work at an airport? That's so neat!

Howdy, Billie Blue ...
I've never been able to see anything in these stereograms before, but today, after staring at the first one, I think I saw a row of squirrels ... and in the third, I saw what looked like bunnies.
Couldn't see anything in the second one except the fence and a field of tulips beyond it.
Kinda like an inkblot, maybe ... hmm ... I must be going through a fuzzy animal phase ... )

Thanks, Jack. I am sure that many of us had already signed the petition - I see nothing wrong with your idea either! Simplicity is oftentimes the best of all.

Only saw one gardener in a straw hat and two birds or butterflies. It is wierd - I kept seeing TWO gardeners sort of in the back with a whole bunch of butterflies or birds on both sides and what looked like a birdbath in FRONT of them and just behind the fence.
Now when I looked again, the two gardeners became one and moved up where the *birdbath* was, and the gardener is holding whatever used to be the birdbath! LOL Only a couple of birds or butterflies now, too!
GREAT Soldier's poem!!!

The second; it is like I'm on this side of that fence, and can't see clearly because for some reason my eyes are all teary. The third; don't ask! At least you were seeing something! The only problem I had (in not seeing what the 3D picture supposedly is) was with the second one, and I saw that one in two different ways. See my post just above to Diver and Dolly.
Maybe you didn't stare long enough and move back slowly enough, or you might see the first and third ones the way others here have said they see them.
Shhhhhhh, think Starship Enterprise and a teapot...in that order. :)

Anyway, GREAT JOB as always!!!!!! Hi there! Thanks, sistah! It's funny about these things and how it's hard at first to *see* the 3D picture. Once you do, I bet you won't have any problem with the next one!

Yes, I'm worried about me, too ... I'm far too tough to be seeing bunnies and squirrels in those things ... )
