Senator Jay Rockefeller Gave Syria Advance Warning Of Iraq War Intentions! (FNS Transcript)
Fox News Sunday (Transcript) ^ | 14 November 2005

WALLACE: ...in October of 2002 in which you authorized the use of force, you went further than the president ever did. Let's watch:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ROCKEFELLER: I do believe that Iraq poses an imminent threat, but I also believe that after September 11th that question is increasingly outdated.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

WALLACE: Now, the president never said that Saddam Hussein was an imminent threat. As you saw, you did say that. If anyone hyped the intelligence, isn't it Jay Rockefeller?

ROCKEFELLER: No. I mean, this question is asked a thousand times and I'll be happy to answer it a thousand times. I took a trip by myself in January of 2002 to Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria, and I told each of the heads of state that it was my view that George Bush had already made up his mind to go to war against Iraq, that that was a predetermined set course which had taken shape shortly after 9/11.

Now, the intelligence that they had and the intelligence that we had were probably different. We didn't get the presidential daily briefs. We got only a finished product, a finished product, a consensual view of the intelligence community, which does not allow for agencies — like in the case of the aluminum tubes, the Department of Energy said these aren't thick enough to handle nuclear power.

They left that out and went ahead with, "They have aluminum tubes and they're going to develop nuclear power."

WALLACE: Senator, you're quite right. You didn't get the presidential daily brief or the senior executive intelligence brief. You got the national intelligence estimate.

But the Silberman commission, a presidential commission that looked into this, did get copies of those briefs, and they say that they were, if anything, even more alarmist, even less nuanced, than the intelligence you saw...

<< Careful - there are a lot of morons at FR who think you have to be loading the weapons of our enemies for it to be treason. >>

All that's required these days to be a traitor, is to suffer the liberal psychosis.

Sedition, subversion and treachery are among liberalism's definitive symptoms.

But in this example the hapless Rockefeller's gone beyond the liberal's call of duty.

They do it for the same reason that people went to see Elvis Presley in Las Vegas around 1974. They have an image in their heads of an older better Rockefeller who's been long dead. It's the same reason everybody loves the Kennedys.

The clock is ticking on the Kennedys as American royalty.

Let's review: Jackie's dead, John-John's dead, Maria Shriver is more Mrs. Schwarzenegger than Jackie's niece, Eunice Shriver, who has those durable genes her sister Rose had, looks like Norman Bates' mother in Psycho (I'm not being cruel -- Google a recent photo), Kathleen Kennedy Townsend got bounced in Maryland by Robert Ehrlich (and the MD4BUSH scandal can't be good for Demos in the state, including her), Robert Jr. is an envirowacko Chicken Little trying to make us forget he became a junkie, his brother Michael died skiing into a tree (after ruining his rep messing around with an underage babysitter), his cousin and RFK Sr.'s widow's nephew Michael Skakel was convicted of murdering a teenage girl a quarter-century after the crime, and Mary Jo Kopechne sacrificed her life to ensure Ted Kennedy would never be Commander-in-Chief.

I'd say the bloom is off the Kennedy rose (pun not intended).

Look at that, somebody was listening. I said on another thread, that Jay Rockefeller should be brought up acts of treason. He is a traitor for going over to the middle east and undermining our President's war on terrorism and has risked the lives of our servicemen who are fighting this war. Rockefeller is an idiot and should be hung for what he admitted to doing.

I have an idea my fellow Freepers. Let's write the President, senators, Representatives, Fox news and everybody else regarding these acts of Treason committed by these traitors in the party of Rats.

Because some idot American people vote for these traitors. In another time frame, individuals who committed these acts of Treason, would be executed.

We Freepers should bombard "SEND NEWS TIPS TO DRUDGE" with this until he posts it, and hope it doesn't go the way of Able Danger.

The treason statute is very clear, and clearly met by the Democrats.

"Idea for a political cartoon or a column hook: Jay "Paul Revere" Rockefeller on horseback, riding through the Syrian desert, shouting, "The Americans are coming, the Americans are coming!"

That's the ideal thing to do. And it's funny too!

Good one. . .

Have always said, Liberals should NEVER hold security positions in our Government. . .better of course, none at all. . .but this is just an example of a Lib Senator/NationalSecurity Committee member. . .doing his job.

Outrage and censure to follow, right? (at the least. . .) Is this not a treason here?

(Watched that interview - JR's defense offered as inocuously as his sharing a ' how to' on making a ham sandwich. Just wish Wallace had taken the time to scrape off the mustard; once Rockefeller gave it to him.

Just when was the senate intelligence committee constitutionally folded into the department of State that traitors like Jay "Paul Revere" Rockefeller that he is granted a pass?

This is an extremely serious and traitorous offense that needs to be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest.

He may have a view of himself to be some sort of American royalty, but in America not even royalty gets a pass on criminal activity.

This goes far beyond the typical political childish squabbles often found in Washington and is a serious breach of national security.

Chris Wallace chewed Rockefeller up and spit him out....

-----
That was good the way he hand him his head like that. I didn't like him as the choice to head FNS when the change was first made, but he's done quite well in my opinion. I noticed his father showed a little animosity towards him and asked him something to the effect of "Do you actually believe all that?" I may be wrong, but I don't think he and his father get along that well.
