Note that Chirac demanded a quick investigation only when a Mosque was attacked.

Two Molotov cocktails were tossed at a mosque Friday evening in the southern town of Carpentras, but it was not immediately clear whether the attack was linked to the unrest that has wracked the poor suburbs and small towns of France since Oct. 27. President Jacques Chirac demanded that investigators quickly find out who was behind the attack. It's a start, anyway. Il Presidente can suck an egg. He is so determined to find the mosque burners, and so slow to go after the car burners. Instead, they lock up those who defy a "curfew"...
Sounds like our .08, and "Click it or Ticket" laws... take away the rights of the many, so you pander to the few!

Chirac should have everything under control when only 200 cars are burned along with one church and one school per week..

Assuming that most of the cars were Peugot's, how do we know that the Muslims had anything to do with it?

If I had a '92 Peugot, I'd be thinking about parking it in the 'wrong' neighborhood and collecting the insurance.

Running out of easy targets. They have "overfished" and soon will have few new fish.
Maybe there should be a law that they can only burn two cars each/night, or maybe only cars 5 years old or older, so that younger cars could grow.
Seriously - would you park anywhere near these areas at this point?

"We returned to an almost normal situation in Ile de France," said Gaudin, referring to the Paris region. He said that 86 vehicles were burned, which he said was about normal.
