My Way News ^ | Nov 11 | Will Lester

WASHINGTON (AP) - Two crucial pillars of President Bush's public support - perceptions of his honesty and faith in his ability to fight terrorism - have slipped to their lowest point in the AP-Ipsos poll.

While the CIA leak investigation, the mishandling of Hurricane Katrina and high energy costs have all taken their toll, the polling found the Iraq war at the core of Americans' displeasure with the president.

All of those concerns are cutting into traditional Bush strengths.

I did no such thing. In fact I consistently predicted Bush wins with around 300-310 EVs.

This is delusional - please document that I spend all my time here during 2004 running down Bush and promoting Kerry. I know for a fact I never did any such thing.

If anyone is wondering why I posted this, I'm just curious as to what you guys have to say about it.""

Unfortunately, with the current 2 generations + being "educated" by overwhelming Liberal "teachers" I don't believe that "most" American even recognize "HONESTY" as it was taught to those of us over the age of 45.
Therefore, how could they judge someone else as being "honest".
There is also alot to who does the polling and how the questions are stated. Hence, I tend to not believe any "poll" as I get older.JMO.

I think the polls are accurate, on balance.

Yes, a bunch of deceived idiots who listen to the MSM don't trust Bush who is in fact a man of integrity and honest character.

It's too bad these polls can't show us exactly what Bush has lied about. I'm STILL waiting to hear this.

Fools.

I know GWB has told whoppers concerning fiscal matters,

Show me one lie Bush has told.

Not just something you disagree with him on. SHOW ME WHERE BUSH HAS LIED.

GWB made a mistake by trying to fight a war in Iraq without mobilizing the country for war.

What are you talking about?

Most of the country was SOLIDLY behind Bush on the Iraq war, including the Dems in Congress and the American people who overwhelmingly supported it.

After 9/11 we were pissed off, but the government did nothing to sustain the anger. GWB let the left and MSM hammer away and define the images of the war. 2000 KIA later, the public support went from 70 to barely 50 percent (some polls it is even lower). Now GWB is starting to fight back? I pray to God that he is not too late.

The press reports false information or doesn't report information at all, and then they take these polls to see that they have successfully manipulated the public.

Could things have been handled better?

Could have been, should have been, handled better ... but the responsibility was first and foremost with the Mayor of New Orleans and the Governor of Louisiana ...

Take a long hard look at the effective way Gov. Haley Barbour handled matters in Mississippi ... they were hit just as hard ... and they are miles ahead of Louisiana in their recovery. Gov. Barbour rolled his sleeves up and got to work ... literally ... and so did Mrs. Barbour.

... while Gov. Blanco was having her hair done for photo ops ...

... and Mayor Nagin was screaming hysterically at people to "get off their asses" and predicting 10,000 casualties ...

Louisiana was, and continues to be, an embarrassment.
