Saddam's right-hand man dies (Izzat Ibrahim Al-Dhouri)

Izzat Ibrahim al-Douri, aide to Saddam Hussein, died on Friday, al-Arabiya TV channel quoted a statement by the Baath party as saying.
Al-Douri, vice chairman of the Revolutionary Command Council under Saddam's regime, ranks No. 6 among the 55 most wanted by the United States with a 10-million-dollar bounty on his head.
He died early Friday, the statement said, without giving more details.

And within the whole Saddamist support part of the insurgency. It is hard to believe he has not been the key money man as has been so widely reported. Heaven knows how many of those truck convoys going to Syria contained bundles of money for later use.

Surely it is if true. Based on above statement as well as his sworn allegience to Abu Musab al-Zarqawi last year, to supply him with financial and other assistance.
Of course, he was one of heaven only knows how many that are in the network. With him gone, it does not mean that things will not continue as usual. He must have had a large cadre of hard core military/intel folks working with him.
