President Bush is making a speech at noon. Fox is reporting he will address the criticism aimed at him by the democrats in the past two weeks.
Mod note: Click here for transcript thread.
>>He hasn't made his speech yet but my prediction is:<<
The Dems already have his speech and will be on the their friendly media outlets attacking as the President speaks.
I hope we aren't getting our hopes up only to be disappointed. It's happened far too much lately with Bush.
I support him on most issues, but he has really let us down by remaining silent while Dingy Harry and Smug Chuckie stand before the cameras each day slamming him.
I would like to think that 36% approval ratings have finally shaken him out of his "silence is golden" tactic.
President Bush won two Presidential Elections and helped his party pick up seats in both Houses of Congress in 2002 and 2004.
People on both sides who forget that are too stupid to talk to.
I don't think it's a coincidence that the Muslims in France started rioting, on such a large scale, within two days of the official approval of the Iraqi constitution.
Irony -- Libs think US troops freeing France is A-OK, but US troops freeing Iraq is BAD. Are the libs racist, or what?
"I hope he'll finally drop the new tone crap..."
AMEN to that! It's not as if he'd lose any friends in DC or jeopardize his next term. He needs to start playing Whack-a-Mole with the media.
Our daughter got to see Ari Fleisher speak the other night.
Man, would it be great to see him back at his old post!
W. we are praying for you and I am in support of you.
DO what YOU do, and don't worry about the left, they will hate you until their death. Dims are harming our troops and our country. Tell it like it is. Nancy P. and Harry R will be right in front of a mic as soon as you stop speaking...............
W.. We need YOU!
Bush needs to start doing this regularly imo.
His approval rating is in the crapper and the media is why imo again.
Live Thread President Bush ping
We shall see, but everything and anything that has been billed by the the White House PR machine to combat the Rats has been like fighting a shooting war with spitballs. Thanks to Zell for that analogy!
The White House PR machine is weak. And let's not fool ourselves into believing otherwise.
It will only work if he effectively declares the start of the WOM (War On Media.)
I agree. I hope he got Zell Miller to write this speech. He should make a speech at a military base almost every day of the week bashing the Dems.
He should also announce a new Congressional Committee will be formed to investigate the Able Danger matter. That may shake up the left.
Can all nay-sayers and predictors of certain disaster just give the man a chance to give his speech before declaring it a failure?
I have an idea on how Bush could turn this around. It involves some risk and the situation with Rove will have to be resolved. He can't start this strategy with a possible indictment of Rove hanging over his head.
Because the President is polarizing, he needs an opponent to show the alternatives. I suggest he make the media the opposition (since in fact they are.) Most Americans hate the media so this might work.
He should depict the media as unprofessional, hurting the GWOT, anti-American...
If he's doing all this to avoid being klinton-esque, and having spin meisters busy 24/7, then he has to step back and realize that the toon NEEDED that for legitimate issues and his own lack of morality and his penchant for lying about even mundane, stupid things. And also, the toon always did it through intermediaries.
But for GWB, he's letting all these losers throw lie after lie his way when he should be making them wear their own statements like a millstone.
Agreeing with both sentiments.
Mr. President, shove the yellow cake down the Dims throats!
But I really hope he gives it a try.
