BTTT!
This is very true.
I figured as much..............but it also seems you didn't read the thread.
Where is the source for your suppositions about Christmas?
Against my advice, a buddy got a great deal ($200) on a 17" LCD monitor......and then bought a $180 extended warranty on it.
Good to know!
You went shopping in walMart on Halloween.............do I win a prize :)
But did you read the second sentence there?
**But Wal-Mart tells WorldNetDaily it has "absolutely not" banned Christmas, but is just "trying to serve all our customers for the holiday season."**
Can't argue with your logic.
The problem is WalMart does sell GE appliances....of course it is all just cheap-made-in-china-crap-because-that-is-all-WalMart-sells...........or that is according to the talking points of the WlMart haters.
I will not step one foot inside TARGET because they refuse to let the Salvation Army bell-ringers stand outsidie their stores.
If anyone is anti-Christmas and anti-Christian -- it is Target!
Minimal risk of that. I'm running my clean version of Firefox. I allow cookies for the duration of the session only. I have no plug in or add ons for this install. (No shockwave, no activex, no java). Behind a firewall. Using a proxy server. Plus I regularly scan with Ad-aware and Spybot. I run Win98 instead of XP. And finally, I don't listen to Sony CDs any more.
That's about as safe as a routine user can go.
If so, I wish you would explain to me how ''Mom & Pop'' retailers as well as ''Mom & Pop'' oil companies could deliver me their products at a price competitive with the huge corporations?
As an 'educated consumer' PRICE is MY most important consideration. "Mom & Pop'' stores MAY offer better service, a more educated sales staff... (Which I don't need). When they can compete on price and having what I need in stock, let me know.
Wal-Mart thinks that Christmas is a pagan holiday. Therefore, I have no reason to spend any money at that particular store this year. They can go straight across the River Styx.
I think Walmart has done a great service to this nation. It has helped keep inflation down and has raised the bar on retailing and I hope it succeeds in competing with Best Buy and Circuit City. It will be good for the consumers and those consumers who hate Walmart for being successful should think twice about why that is. I have never liked the feeling of being ripped off at dealerships and other establishments the internet and Walmart have placed the consumer in more a position of power than had ever been the case before.
I know many complain about low wages but who are these people who think Walmart should be a lifelong career and how condescending the politicians who don't believe their constituents should aspire to be more than minimum wage employees at retailers and restaurants? There are plenty of opportunities for companies to compete with Walmart, the least they could do is emulate the successful business practices of the retail giant but they seem to have trouble even doing that and instead would rather the government step in and regulate away the competitive prices.
I also think the ideas recently being considered such as applying windfall taxes to oil companies are exactly the wrong ideas. Why is it the government deserves more money because we are paying more at the pump? You are right, people don't think deeply enough about the consequences of what they are proposing and are in danger of falling into a socialist trap. Allowing energy windfall taxes or sticking it to retailers will have one effect, it will cause trickle down taxation and we will pay more at the pump and the grocery store.
Was that you on last night's 'Trading Spouses'?
Nope, just Walmart.
What may have happened is the people in receiving are taking the proof of purchase , i.e, bar code off and mailed them in for the rebate. I see that on E-Bay all the time in some of the stuff I have bought.
I don't hate wal-mart. I have shopped there many times. And I don't hate Big Oil. I do Dislike Target, however(and costco, its sister store)
Hmmm, was there no mention of CompUSA?
That store sucks.
