Rasmussen is not the most reliable pollster in the world.

Pennsylvania Democrats suffered a resounding defeat on Tuesday with the ousting of their "esteemed" judge, Russ Nigro. The taxpayers of PA are disgusted with greedy, self-serving politicos--especially the breed from which Casey comes. We are in a mood to throw the rascals out. Any Democrat is fair game--and most especially, a Democrat who is riding on the coattails of his dead father.

Casey has about the chance of a snowball in Hell, where all his democrat predecessors are trying to build snow castles in the fiery inferno.

Santorum's an idiot. He is an arrogant, self-absorbed SOB. He earned the nickname Rooster Rick for all the crowing he did about himself before he entered politics. Frankly, I won't be that sad to see him go. I wish that Toomey would run against him in the primary.

I for one remember it WELL - Santorum can pound salt

If you're not a PA voter, who cares what you think? Santorum, for the few mistakes he's made, is one of the best conservative senators. If you're willing to throw him under the bus for a liberal, then I have to assume that you're a liberal.

Santorum definatley has a low press profile, at least around Pittsburgh the last few years... I'm waiting until the race starts to really get going before I put stock in polls...

We kept waiting for Fisher to start the race, too.

The PA GOP needs new leadership. They couldn't even bring themselves to get in front of the popular uprising against the payraise.

What the hel do you know about Pennsylvania politics?

I've lived in the state for 45 years.

Santorum has nothing to worry about with that pipsqueak Casey.

I'm with you; he's too much "beltway", and not enough "Pennsylvania" for me.

Enjoy having two liberals for your senators, then. You'll have nothing over us Jersey types at that point.

I've been supporting him until now, but the primary is only months away, and he's demonstrated that he can't even get the support of the GOPers. If we want to win, we've got to nominate someone who have the firm support of the GOP. It ain't him. The reason that the GOP lost the VA governorship the other day is that they nominated someone who did not have the support of the core GOP base. The race would be tough if Santorum could mobilize the base. It's going to be ugly because he can't.

Did you read the link in post # 18? That is what I am referring to. Whether any of it is accurate or not the perception is weird. That will not sit well with the average voter. I have always been a big fan of Santorum this saddens me that he is being defined as some over the edge nut.

" Any so-called conservative who would sit at home instead of voting"

Why sit at home, go to a local bar and have a few beers election day, does not make a damn bit of diference who wins the liberal agenda will be advanced, best thing to do is just get out of the game and take care of friends/family, screw plitics, it is nothing but a con game and us voters are the pigons.

Hi, newbie. I see the Casey internet campaign is in full swing. Sorry, idiots--you're going to lose big. Never mind the cheats in Philly. We are on to them now. No more dead people voting--no more coerced votes at the nursing homes.

>>>I don't understand PA but how can santorum fall like this? A sitting senator has a lot of power to make friends and supporters.<<<

The reasons, IMO, are as follows:

1) Specter vs. Toomey
2) Open borders, and those who rise to defend it are labeled "vigilantes".
3) Out of control pork barrel spending
4) Prescription drug entitlement
5) Virtual silence from the repubs when the democrats lie
6) ANWAR is still an unproductive frozen wasteland
7) 30 years since we have built a new refinery.
8) The George Soros Incumbent Protection Act (aka, Campaign Finance Reform)
9) Out of control foreign aid

I am certain there are others...

Bob Casey is very, very popular in PA. He's not a bad guy, really

It won't take long for that to change. This ain't his daddy's Senate.

Not from PA, but Santorum is a little, say, strange...

You're right, the RINOs like you have a visceral negative reaction to anyone who takes religious faith seriously.

And the Reagan Dems who have supported Santorum in each of his previous elections are the base of Casey's support because of his father.

LOL, he sounds like a wise man, I missed my first election since 1968, these bums are not worth spending the 15 or 20 minutes it takes to vote.

Have you read this yet? Would a beltway politician even dream of writing a book like this? I think not.

Listening to all you defeatist losers here on FR is really charging me up. Though I'm a Jerseyite, I think I'm going to work for Rick in 2006. I'd rather go down supporting a good man like Santorum--whom the gays and democrats publicly DESPISE--than supporting some RINO lackey.
