CURT WELDON: SECOND DATA MINING OPERATION AWARE OF ATTA BEFORE 9/11
C-SPAN ^ | November 9, 2005 | Rep Curt Weldon

Posted on 11/10/2005 3:08:26 AM PST by Protect the Bill of Rights

Direct link to video: rtsp://video.c-span.org/15days/e110905_weldon.rm (14:59 into video; Requires Real Player)

"But we have something new..... Dr. Bob Johnson is a professor and IT expert. Dr. Bob Johnson was the manager and operator of the Garland Unit of Data Mining separate from the Army's [leeway?]. Dr. Bob Johnson has not talked to any of the Able Danger players since the efforts that were taking place in '99 and 2000 and Dr. Bob Johnson told me that his unit also identified Mohammed Atta not by photo but by name before 9/11.."

Other points: -Garland's Data was sent to SOCOM. -Able DAnger's Data was destroyed because Army did not want SOCOM to have info.

Weldon has asked for a criminal investigation.

This is must see TV by all Freepers. It is 47 minutes long, but worth the Watch! MSM is busy covering the dems efforts to destroy Bush.

It is full of new details.

Cheers,

We may never know which specific files were taken, but they had original, hand written notes which couldn't have been duplicated. Those notes were incriminating to Clinton officials, IMO.

This may be a stupid question, but doesn't the national archive photo-copy or digitize all analog material?

They've had Microfiche/Microfilm for decades...

Is it me or do they need a purchase requisition to buy a $49.00 USB scanner down there (I'm being sarcastic, I know the volumes of information logged into the archives are enormous but even a Xerox WorkCenter 24 can take a stack of paper, scan it, convert to PDF and email in seconds...)

A little comic relief, as I posted last night:

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!

He called Sandy Berger "What's his face!"

As in "maybe what was stolen by, uh, what's his face from the archives.... What's his name I forget it! (as he snaps fingers in air!)

PRICELESS

It is closer to the end of video.

I haven't seen someone with such passion since, well I guess I have to go back to "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" with James Stewart, which was fiction.

This is personal for him. He has not forgotten to horrors of 9/11. Time has not dimmed his emotions.

Important to remember, SOCOM has the Garland Unit's data.

Dieter Snell was an aide to Jaime Gorelick

And this I did not know. The Commander of the USS Cole, his career has been put on hold by Senator John Warner who blames him for the bombing.

If true as presented (and I have NO reason to doubt it) Able Danger knew something was going to happen in that port 2 weeks ahead of time, 2 days before they were jumping up & down, but no one would listen, the Commander was not given any information, the fact that Warner is blaming him turns my stomach.

Warner, Republican. Weldon is right-they want this buried on both sides of the aisle. Hands are dirty across the aisle. I cannot discount the GOP might have other motives for not fighting the Dems. "Cheney is responsible" keeps MSM occupied.

I think there are severe restrictions on the use of copying/ imaging technologies and classified docs. Some Freeper with intel experience may elaborate, but I think every copy must be documented and noted when the copy is made.

Sandypants knew exactly what he was doing. He got the docs with handwritten notes. Those comments are key, unfortunately I doubt any reproductions of those notes exist.

Maybe that explains why they are mad and going crazy because maybe ? maybe ? the Republicans/Conservatives might have something on the Clintons/Gorlick/ and the Democrats.
Remember ? one tactic to direct attention away from your own faults and weakness is to attack your opponent, but, then again ? the Liberals/Democrats/MSM have been at President Bush since he took office in 2001.

That unwritten rule that current Pres. don't try and out a former seems to be in play here. Perhaps, after Pres. Bush's term is up (or closer to the next Pres. election) some or all of these facts will come out. In any case, Hillery will probably have some explaining to do.
