Congresswoman: Three Al Qaeda Caught in U.S. After Crossing Border with Mexico
Wednesday, November 9, 2005 | Kristinn

Posted on 11/09/2005 4:49:04 PM PST by kristinn

Rep. Sue Myrick (R-N.C.) let slip a bombshell disclosure at a news conference today to announce a bill targeting states that allow illegal aliens to get drivers licenses.

During the Q&A with reporters, Myrick gave as a reason for proposing the bill the recent capture of three al Qaeda terrorists at the U.S.-Mexico border.

A check of Google News turned up no references to this incident, yet Myrick stated this was a 'given fact.'

No reporter asked her about this revelation, but it was noted at the end of a Charlotte Observer article by Tim Funk.

Two Representatives from North Carolina, Virginia Foxx (R) and Patrick McHenry (R) stood with Myrick at the press conference. Neither commented on her matter of fact statement.

Rep. Myrick's remarks can be heard online at her Congressional Website here. the statement is made at about 8:45 into the press conference.

A call placed to Myrick's office in D.C. was not answered as the office is closed for the evening.

Transcript:

"Our main concern is, who's in our state? I mean this is a critical issue today. I mean they just arrested down on the border, what a couple of weeks ago, three al Qaeda members who came across from Mexico into the United States. I mean that's a given fact. They were holding them in the jail down there."

Yeah, I saw that. I think I heard or read about that quite some time ago, as well...or, perhaps it was another incident altogether.

Oh, no, it couldn't be another incident because there are never any terrorists that come thru Mexico!

It's the same incident you recall. The diary was found in February of '03, and I posted the article.

Ever since then, I've used the picture as a gentle reminder that OTMs cross the border daily. Many FReepers refuse to accept that fact, preferring to live in their ivory towers, or whatever.

Thanks for living in the real world!

BQ and I usually live and breath in the real world, not the imaginary one of yesteryear.....that is not to say that she and I agree on all issues....but on those, we agree to disagree agreeably ...unless she's like totally wrong. : )

risky method of infiltration

There is very little risk in entering from Mexico. Ask the 5,000+ dirt farmers the sneak in every day.

Anyone with just a tiny bit of training can cross unimpeded at anytime.

The jail down there? In Mexico? Or in the U.S.? I, too, would like to know when and where this happened!

I'll bet the Democrats main concern is whether the three al Quaeda are being held in a secret prison.

Many, many contractors hire these illegals and pay them under the table less than half of what they pay US workers. It's all about greed, both in the government pandering for votes and the employers saving a few bucks. But, at what expense?

Yep, it's cash under the table for those "workers." Uncle Sam tends to look the other way when it comes to employers who make big cash donations to politicians coffers. Our system is just plain corrupt. No two ways about it.

Here's a recent headline from Coeur d'Alene:

Arrest of Illegal Immigrants

Coeur d’Alene Police detectives arrested two adult males by the name of Alejandro Z. Sanchez, 29 years of age of Spokane Washington, and Valentin G. Villianueva 35 years of age of Spokane Washington for grant theft and conspiracy to commit grand theft. Officers were notified on October 3rd that a theft of $20,000 worth of jewelry had occurred at K-mart between the hours of 10:00pm on October 2nd and 6:00 am on October 3rd 2005.

Employees at K-mart said the cleaning crew had arrived the evening of October 2nd and they were locked into the facility by their supervisor. The supervisor of the Floor Care Center, a cleaning company, returned at 6:00am on October 3rd and released them from the building.

Employees from K-mart discovered the theft of jewelry from an unlocked case and called police. Sanchez and Villianueva returned to K-mart the next night as part of the cleaning crew. K-mart employees notified police of their return. Officers responded to the scene and interviewed the suspects through a police detective interpreter as they do not speak English.

Detectives were able to gather information that led them to a residence at 2927 N. Regal in Spokane Washington. With the assistance of Spokane County Sheriff’s Department detectives responded to that address and were able to recover all of the stolen jewelry. The jewelry consisted of diamond bracelets and rings. Living at the residence were seven adults. Detectives were able to determine that all of the residents and the two suspects are illegal immigrants. Detectives notified the federal branch of the Homeland Security Department. No action has been taken by Homeland Security at this time. Villianueva and Sanchez were booked into the Kootenai County Public Safety building and are expected to make a first appearance today.

Update FYI: K-Mart agreed to deportation for the thieves working as janitors for them. Wonder how long it'll take the illegals to relocate north of the border once again.

Every one is so concerned about the Southern border that is why were I AQ I would chose the north far fewer risks. Any attack on an oil facility would not likely have much success because it would take a lot to do major damage. Inconvenience sure but nothing killing hundreds of people.

There are many ways of doing far more damage with more casualties but I won't go into them here. Particularly if we are speaking of suicide killers. The major object of these killer is to create terror and that means major casualties not just property damage.
