TODAY, Californians are heading to the polls to vote on several major propositions that shall dramatically affect both the political and economic future of our state.
We are following the activity and will report the results.

Most of us here never stopped reminding him he had veto power, but he sought the bipartisan route and we are all likely to pay more in the long run by his doing so, just like Bush erred in giving Kennedy his Education bonanza at the start of his first term.

Just think of what a 13% solution would have meant to all of us. but I know, he was irrelevant and unelectable, yaknow. That's what the FR "experts" said .
The Gub can win again, the Rats will devour themselves and how can they keepp coming up with more money at this point, we still have the June '06 election to go thru,.
So maybe another election ASAP might pass???????
Throw some propositions on the next election, and roll for it. Maybe these might pass???
Well, I voted, and I would say our office voted 6 to 1 for the 5 major propositions... There are so many lefties moving in to take jobs that our schools fail to produce candidates for, I am afraid that is the way it is.
I was thinking last night that Arnolds 48% of the special election vote is not diminished more than a couple percent over these propositions. I dont think he is OUT by any means....but then again, if a DEM is elected, then look out:

State Provided Illegal Alien Car Insurance - Approved
Gay Marriage - Approved
Tripling of License Fees - Approved
California Living Wage - Approved
Medical Marijuana Bill - Appoved
CA Outsourcing Ban Bill - Approved
CA Bullet ID Act - Approved

Never give up. Time and pressure. Its a very tough nut to crack no question. But its not about guranteed sucess. Its about doing what we know is right. Ill be damned if I give up. You give up you get nothing.
Basically one man. Arnold Schwarzenegger took on the massive unions that organized against him on a national level. He gave them a good run for the money just for them to maintain the status quo. That is no small thing.
We'll get those muthers someday!
Could you please explain to me WHY someone without a vested interest in keeping the status quo in the legislature would oppose Prop. 77?
You weren't alone in expressing those opinions. I felt it was much better to let Davis crash the state -- it's inevitable anyhow as long as Dems/unions control the Legislature -- and show the voters who's responsible for the disaster.
There was a very active and vocal opposition to that view here on FR and of course it won the day. Now we've been handed our heads on a platter and can only watch hopelessly as CA goes down the tube with Republicans getting the blame. But I think you're an optimist about the rest of the country taking a lesson from this. Many "conservatives" talk a good fight but there's actually a Freeper admitting this a.m. he didn't vote "because it wouldn't make a difference." Such dedication! Such bravery!
I agree with your recommendations. I don't think many of us will be able to afford to stay in CA when the Flower Children in Sacramento eliminate Prop 13 and base new property taxes on the horribly inflated home valuations here. The unions own this state now and we'd just as well rename it the American Soviet Republic of California. Other American Soviet Republics to come -- Vermont and many more.

Yes. Hell yes. I'll even swap out the tires on that truck for a set of tank treads if it means rolling over more RINOs and resurrecting the Constitution!
Show me any other measure on the ballot or on the floor of the Legislature that would have been more fiscally conservative. Go ahead.
All you bigtime California Republicans just SWORE McClintock could have won if Conservatives showed up at the polls. Well, now we know how many Conservatives show up at the polls, don't we. At least admit you're wrong.
I voted, Hildy. I didn't vote based on polls or predictions. The propositions were noble and right and I especially wanted 73, 74 and 75 to pass, for values and for taking perks away from the left.
It's demoralizing enough to see the results this morning, but to see that FReepers who would have voted for the propositions did not vote at all and -- to top it off -- have the nerve to post about it here on the forum.
I have no patience for non-voters, especially when so many of our troops -- who have traditionally been the winners and maintainers of our freedoms and rights -- are in harm's way.
where do you think all the libs in Calif came from?...hell, the mass migration of libs from the east coast in the 60s and 70s.....so everyone can whine about Calif being so liberal which of course it is...though life here is not nearly as bad as you read in the papers.....I wish we could give some of these people back....so when others complain about Calif moving to their states.........remember alot of them are transplants......NOT natives........
For one, I'm not from California. Polls showed that McClintock would have easily won the election had Arnold not been the spoiler. It was you moderate/liberal Republicans that screwed things up there, not the conservatives.
Especially since voting absentee takes a whole whopping 3 minutes out of your day? There really is no excuse for someone not to vote.
