Iraqi's Thank America (Wow, this is moving!)
The Other Iraq ^ | 11/08/2005 | Iraqi Kurds

Posted on 11/08/2005 4:38:47 PM PST by Impeach98

"THANK YOU AMERICA"
I have the very good fortune to be working for a PR company hired by the Iraqi Kurds to help promote a media campaign that begins on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 here in the United States.

Tomorrow is the launch of a TV ad campaign where the Iraqi Kurds say "Thank You" to America for liberating them from the oppressive regime of Saddam Hussein. Please watch the ads and post your thoughts.

"Thank You America" is the first of 3 ads that will run in the United States (beginning on Fox News Channel) and then thanking British and American troops in Europe and the Middle East.

Appreciate the post. You and I had similar thoughts on Spot 3 (which I articulated a few posts up).

One question. What did you mean by:

"need to start using the MSM to our advantage. I like #3 because it speaks of hope and rebuilding."

Condescending towards who?

Incredible ads. I love the child holding "light", it's wonderful symbology.

"Nice ads, but are they a prelude to separation? The other Iraq? Fall in love with a warm message then we're hook to feel for them when they separate. I hope not but makes me wonder."

I'll stick with the other explanation, the "other" Iraq is all of Iraq that is working and gaining ground, and not making headlines in the west.

In order to be a prelude to separation the Kurds would have to anticipate civil war in both Iraq and Turkey - they are not likely to be considering anything of the sort. At least not unless a decade or so of relative democracy fails to bring the rest of the region up to standards they have established during the previous decade or so.

It's kind of up to the rest of Iraq to take advantage of an established model (other than Israel) and up to turkey to avoid acting like Saddam in its own Kurdish regions.

These are great ads. I can hear the whacko leftie's high pitched voices screaming "unfair" as they're kicked squarely between the legs with these ads. The fat SOB Kennedy is finally going to have his cow.

But I do have a question: Why is Kurdistan "the other Iraq"?

My guess is it's because they don't get any press like the Baghdad area. It would be really hard for the MSM to be anti-American if they focused on Kurdistan.

I remember well at the beginning of the Iraqi war the Kurds had fled to the mountains...sleeping in tents...
Well, they've got their lands back and I'm happy for them.
ESAD Saddam.

"..But I do have a question: Why is Kurdistan "the other Iraq"? Does this mean we liberated them as well as Iraq?.."

The reason Kurdistan is the "other Iraq", is that this is an area the liberal media dreads most that people will eventually hear about.

It has taken a fearsome embargo of any coverage whatsoever of the Kurds in order to present the fiction that the Iraq liberation is a failure.

It matters not the overwhelming level of liberal deceit- they are playing for big stakes here. If Americans in general knew how much progress has been made in Kurdistan since liberation, the blow-dried hand wringers would be finished.

But, it goes even further than that. Throughout the last several hundred years, the Kurds have been systematically used, and then betrayed, by nearly every single European power. Their story, if ever told, will shame too many "continental sophisticates" to be allowed 'out'.

Yet someday it will. And if you think the French and their cronies have much to be ashamed of now- wait for, as Paul Harvey would say..."The rest of the story."

Thanks to all of you who have clarified this. I think the ads are a wonderful idea, as is anything which gets the true news out, rather than just what the old media wants us to see.
