Iraqi's Thank America (Wow, this is moving!)
The Other Iraq ^ | 11/08/2005 | Iraqi Kurds

"THANK YOU AMERICA"
I have the very good fortune to be working for a PR company hired by the Iraqi Kurds to help promote a media campaign that begins on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 here in the United States.

Tomorrow is the launch of a TV ad campaign where the Iraqi Kurds say "Thank You" to America for liberating them from the oppressive regime of Saddam Hussein. Please watch the ads and post your thoughts.

"Thank You America" is the first of 3 ads that will run in the United States (beginning on Fox News Channel) and then thanking British and American troops in Europe and the Middle East.

I hope the ads will appear on other channels beside FOX.

Whatever will Scott Ritter, the weapons inspector complaining about the war, say if something good comes of the war? Actually, Ritter is a bit more balanced than most of the anti-war folks, though. I saw him on cspan being interviewed about his latest book and he claims that the policy was never about disarming Iraq, but has always about removing Saddam.

Most of the Scott Ritter interview is on the internet and I found a few interesting sections which I wish he would say more of when the left is claiming Bush lied!

from Scott Ritter interview:
By 1995, Saddam's survival becomes a political liability to Bill Clinton, and he was coming up for reelection in '96, and he turned to the CIA and said get rid of Saddam by the summer of 1996: I need that man gone.

You know, there's a lot of talk today in the Democratically controlled judiciary committee about going after the Bush Administration for crimes, for lying to Congress, and etc. And I'm all in favor of that, bring on the indictments, but don't stop at the Bush Administration.

If you want to have a truly bipartisan indictment, you indict Madeleine Albright, you indict Sandy Berger, you indict every person on the Clinton Administration that committed the exact same crime that the Bush Administration has committed today.

The Lib's will claim this is a cheap Bush/Rove propaganda trick and - I bet that the "major" channels will refuse to carry the ads......

Nice idea though!!

You won't see this in the ENEMEDIA!

Why, of course not Jan! They were far happier playing with the fluff in their navels while the Kurds were being attacted by WMD's. Oops! Sorry.. What WMD's? What Kurds? What Islamic gang rapes in Pakistan? What molestations, beatings, and female slave trading in Saudi Ara... hey look, I just found a penny! *Digging finger out of navel* I think I'll post a picture of it in a new thread...

I loved the ads and the longer videos as well. I learned a lot. They definitely made me want to visit and/or invest -- if only I had the resources to do either!

My only comments were already mentioned here. The Other Iraq does have a separatist feel -- made me wonder if it was a prelude to something more. Also, the little angelic girl with the light was a lovely touch. Hope resonates in these videos -- something we long to see coming from that region.

"..Can we sue the media for criminal abuse of the First Amendment? Can we impeach them for lying about the WOT in an attempt to have our troops withdrawn?...

Fortunately, no we can't. If that sounds odd, then we have to step back a minute. If lawsuits for lying were allowed, Michael Moore and Al Franken would never see the outside of a courtroom.

What we can do is to expose lies whenever and where-ever we find them. This is where Freerepublic has been exactly the right forum, in exactly the right place, at exactly the right time.

As to whether people refuse to see the lies for what they are... well, that's where our destiny lies. If the MSM win, and 51% or more of the people's minds are pablum... then we suffer. Worse, though, is what our children will suffer.

Do not go gently into that dark lie. Rage, rage against those who would pervert the truth. Semper fi.
