Riot-torn France faces "moment of truth" - Villepin

PARIS (Reuters) - France is wounded and faces a moment of truth, Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin said on Tuesday, after his government approved the use of curfews to quell 12 nights of rioting.

The protests, blamed on racism and unemployment in rundown suburbs, receded in the Paris region after shots were fired at police the previous night but continued unabated in other parts of France in the early hours of Tuesday, with youths torching more than 1,000 vehicles overnight.

"The Republic faces a moment of truth ... France is wounded. It cannot recognise itself in its streets and devastated areas, in these outbursts of hatred and violence which destroy and kill," Villepin told the lower house of parliament.

"A return to order is the absolute priority. The government has shown this. It will take all the steps necessary to ensure the protection of our citizens and to restore calm ... We see these events as a warning and as an appeal."

Five cars were torched in Brussels in what officials say could have been copycat attacks, but the rioting did not spread across the border. Even so, fears of riots erupting in other countries helped push down the value of the euro.

Villepin's conservative government adopted a decree at an emergency session under a 1955 law that allows regional government officials known as prefects to impose curfews if they consider it necessary.

The decree was due to take effect at 11 p.m. British time, after the Interior Ministry decides where prefects can impose curfews not widely seen here since the Algerian war of 1954-1962.

Villepin said 1,500 police would be brought in to back up the 8,000 officers already deployed in areas hit by unrest involving poor white youths as well as French-born citizens of Arab ....

"The real reason is the police dared to enter Muslim controlled areas."

Of the hundreds of posts I've read in here regarding the insurrection in France, this statetment really hit a nerve. You are on to something here.

The French have allowed, through fear and intimidation, the Islamics in their country to pretty much run their own neighborhoods and ghettos the way they saw fit. It wasn't the two kids who died, these thuggish muslims could care less. It was the fact that the 'infidel' French police dared to enter "their" territory that set off this war.

If the people of France had only 1/3rd of their ancestral Frankish/Gallic/Germanic toughness and courage, this problem would have been eliminted after the very first night. What has become of the French?

The protests, blamed on racism and unemployment in rundown suburbs,

My high school English teacher penalized us severely for using passive voice.

Yet it is a staple of Democratic rhetoric and MSM style.

The result is that they report actions without actors, and never have to identify reality:

"Mistakes were made."

"Blamed on racism and unemployment." (Blamed by whom? And aren't there many others who blame Islamic isolationist culture?)

Personally, I would blame the rioters.

"So who are Mr. Racism and Mr. Unemployment? And why aren't their names more French?"

Mr. Racism = Ali Abhorz al-otherz

Mr. Unemployment = Abdul Hassen-ben workin.

Translation appears rough) - Protestant church hit tonight...

Tuesday November 8, 2005

The rioters afro-Moslems are caught some with a Protestant church

This night the Protestant church of Meulan (78) underwent a terrorist attack.
The roof is completely devastated. I do not know if the interior is completely destroyed or not.

One does not need smoke in a mosque, but cramer a church, it is less serious.

You mean, the Muslims rioters aren't obeying the NEW LAW concerning curfew?

I'm so surprised.

Not.

French MSM covers up what is, in fact, a pogrom
posted by U*2 @ 4:14 AM

If you think that French media are downplaying the extent of the actual violence and damage, you are right. Quite a bit of hard news is not being reported both by design and by the circumstances on the ground. State TV has already decided to stop repeating the number of cars burned every day and film crews (particularly white French film crews) are being chased from the suburbs after having their vehicles and equipment torched. The only journalists currently operating freely and without armed escort are from Algerian newspapers (El Watan has been cited as an example).

Callers on talk radio are starting to reveal what MSM is censuring: the racist, Islamist nature of the ongoing uprising.

State TV has already manipulated reports, albeit hamfistedly. The most notable example was the bait-and-switch reports about the handicapped woman doused with gasoline and burned by rioters. Every attempt was made to have viewers believe that race was not an issue.

The Socialist Mayor of Noisy le Grand, speaking on France Culture radio yesterday morning claimed that in his city women were dragged from their cars by their hair and, for all intense and purposes, stoned by rampaging youths (il a employé le terme "quasi lapidées" en fwançais). He also reported that molotov cocktails were thrown into people's homes. He then asked the Army to intervene. The host, somewhat shocked that a Socialist mayor would use such language on a live State radio broadcast, stammered for a few seconds. The reports have since slipped into a French media memory hole.

On a State TV France5 talk show, an Algerian writer living in Paris expressed shock at the scenes coming in from the suburbs where jellaba clad big brothers step in to calm youths and negotiate with police. He stated that such images reminded him of the happenings in Islamist neighborhoods of Algiers circa late 80s and early 90s. These images, very common in the first days of the riots, have now vanished from French TV screens which now favor scenes involving disenfranchised youths who repeat endlessly that they are victims of unemployment and racism.

Claim victimhood. Claim they are being oppressed. Blame everyone but themselves for why they can't find work. Get the liberals to feel sorry for you. Demand money and land as way to stop violence.

Just goes to show how stupid the Germans and Japanese were in WWII. If they had first aligned themselves with America's internal enemies, they could have softened up the public opinion to justify their actions.

While it's too late for those regimes, don't be so certain that the Chinese aren't incorporating this tactic into their long-term strategic plans.

Howie Carr on WRKO radio in Boston this afternoon read an article from a French newspaper....in it the Legion of Human Rights or the French equivalent of the ACLU jumped into the fray, complaining that the trials of those arrested are occurring too quickly and there's danger of something worse happening. As Howie said, what's worse than being set on fire or simply being beaten to death as was the case for two victims of the 'youts'. All this concern for the rights of Muslim thugs, no concern for law-abiding people whose cars and businesses have been burned. They're out of their minds.

Outlining his plans to parliament, he promised to accelerate urban renewal programmes and vowed to help young people in poor suburbs by reducing unemployment and improving their education opportunities.

In other words, intimidation works very well against the French. They have decided to "fix" the problem by throwing money at it and accepting their losses.

Look for further rounds of violence and "negotiation" as France continues to surrender herself into Dhimmitude.

Everything is for those POOR YOUTHS.....
Why a 22 year old is still called a youth is stange to me as 18 years of age you are considered an adult.

Things will be quiet for a few days or weeks, until, they have some more demands.

This is going to get worse as the GREEN PARTY, the FAR LEFT and the COMMUNIST PARTY of France are calling for the YOUTHS to revolt against the curfew.

Kristopher.

Following your link, I found this:

This is wonderful. We see that there are indeed French who see what is going on over there. If you don't reach French, I will just say that this writer is incensed at his government and his country's MSM at calling these evildoers "youths" and not mentioning how carefully organized this whole thing is, and by whom (militant Islam). This writer does say that France is reaping what it has sown. And that while these ROPers actively try to drive the French out of France, all the government is doing is handing out concessions.

He is trying to organize a huge demonstration in Paris on Friday to once more try and fight for France. He is hoping that all French, of all colors and nationalities, will join together in the only legal way they know to protest what is going on, both the terrorism and the government's response. He is calling this a choice for France: between war and slavery.

We should support French people who feel the same way. Our anti-French sentiment on this site is really meant for the mainstream government and media.

If you can dust off your high school French, you might like this read.
