The Romans conquered the barbarians—and the barbarians conquered Rome.

So it goes with empires. And comes now the penultimate chapter in the history of the empires of the West.

This is the larger meaning of the ritual murder of Theo Van Gogh in Holland, the subway bombings in London, the train bombings in Madrid, the Paris riots spreading across France. The perpetrators of these crimes in the capitals of Europe are the children of immigrants who were once the colonial subjects of the European empires.

At this writing, the riots are entering their 12th night and have spread to Rouen, Lille, Marseille, Toulouse, Dijon, Bordeaux, Strasbourg, Cannes, Nice. Thousands of cars and buses have been torched and several nursery schools fire-bombed. One fleeing and terrified woman was doused with gasoline and set ablaze.

The rioters are of Arab and African descent, and Muslim. While almost all are French citizens, they are not part of the French people. For never have they been assimilated into French culture or society. And some wish to remain who and what they are. They live in France but are not French.

The rampage began October 27 when two Arab youths, fleeing what they mistakenly thought was a police pursuit, leapt onto power lines and were electrocuted. The two deaths ignited the riots.

I know a lot of people are not fond of Mr. Buchanan, but this is a good piece.

Israel issues a statement asking the French to exercise restraint and not contribute to the cycle of violence.

It starts with Europe, sensitive to cultural and racial issues, looking the other way when "honor" murders occur, women in the ghettos are forced to wear the hijab and veil, pork and videos and dancing and music get outlawed.

When you get an inch, you take a yard, then you want the whole mile.

Not responding only to Buchanan, but the West better get their act together. Yes, the French offend everyone and they have been idiots. And the situation is grave. But it's long past the time for dramatically announcing "we're doomed." The West will have to control these moslem populations and curtail further immigtation. Those who are already citizens need to be assimilated. And we need to transform the moslem countries and destroy the terrorists.

Regardless, Mexicans and other Latin Americans don't represent the kind of threat to Western Civilization that the immigration swamping Europe do for Europeans.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't enforce the borders, but it is certainly an entirely different kind of issue. And we can be thankful for that.

Buchanan does insult Hispanics by comparing them to the rabble that is burning France. This is another good reason to ditch English as a second language education, multiculturalism, and any other -ism that separates us.

The current French Apartheid isn't much discussed.

France has 36,000 districts nationwide, each with its own mayor. All 36,000 of those French mayors are White. None are Black; none are Islamic; none are North African.

France's Presidency and Prime Ministership are White. France's entire Parliament is "White's Only."

And it's been this way since before the American Civil war.

But remember, the liberal news media holds France as being "enlightened." No one is supposed to call Frenchmen as the racists that they are.

But I digress. None of the above is relevant to radical-Islamic-rioting. What I mention above is relevant only to our news media's glaring double-standard.

Apartheid for France is good, per the mainstream news media. Apartheid for everyone else is bad (well, the news media makes certain Islamic/Palestinian/Israeli exceptions...but that's another story, too)...

Yeah we are better off short term for having more culturally similar neighbors. France the rest of western Europr got hooked on cheap African labor. We got hooked on cheap Mexican labor. Better for us short term but long term there is no reason for American to exist at all in the eyes of the enemy. They need Europe. Muslims in america have already been declared apostate for the purposes of enemy strategy.

If a farsighted Frenchman had warned of the dangers to his country of Islamic immigration 30 years ago, he would have been met with the same type of "argument" you use. Pat Buchanan is exactly right.
