I've never watched the West Wing in my life, but my guess is, the Commie.

DIdn't watch it. I'd forgotten. Instead I watched the original "The Longest Yard".

Like a republican will ever win on that show. The debate over issues only? Let the people decide based on issues and not personal attacks? Well, if that's all there is to it then the democrats win hands down.

Oh, and you gotta love that they have Janeane Garofalo on there playing a character with a 200 IQ....

Who Won the 'West Wing' Live Debate?

This and 'Commander in Chief" are the left's fantasy world while the adults are running the country...

I've never watched West Wing. I did, however, have the misfortune to start watching the remake of "The Longest Yard". I had to turn it off - Adam Sandler is no Burt Reynolds.

The real fantasy here is that the Republican (Vinick, played by Alan Alda) is a senator from California and the Democrat (Santos, played by Jimmy Smits) is a senator from Texas.

Watched for about five minutes ... of course the Republican was edgy, butting in and the dem was soft spoken and commanding. Would have been really good to have an actual Republican playing a Republican ... would have made it more believable.

Likely "Santos" won, for 2 reasons. 1st, the "regulars" of the show all have contracts for the next couple years (their characters would never work for a Republican), and 2nd, the "debate" is scripted... nothing spontaneous ever happens.

You know, I do watch it. I ignore the blatent liberal crap, I watch because I like some of the characters and their interplay with one another.

It'd be better is they have the Republicans win, and a whole new cast come in. Yes, it would be corrupt and mean-spirited in nature, but more enjoyable overall.

Adam Sandler doesn't have to be Burt Reynolds.

From a commecial about "Commander in Chief" this weak, it appears that President Geena Davis has a problem with leaks. "Ripped from the headlines!" And ... I just bet ... this issue will be handled forthrightly in an admirable, ethical, and open manner that makes everyone gasp and say "Leftwing women make the best presdents!"

I was a bit curious so I did watch a few minutes. I thought the flaming liberal Alan Alda would portray the Republican as a bad guy but he did not. His character is not supposed to be a hard line conservative but he did sound right of center to me on many issues. He is apparently also supposed to be intelligent, thoughtful, and articulate. How unusual to see a Republican portrayed that way on TV!
