Wow. Wouldn't it be sweet if JimRob cashed a check from WaPo for megamillions. I ordinarily don't like lawsuits, but I could make an exception.

Mr. Beandog, who reads the Post, doesn't quite believe me when I tell him this is going on. He keeps asking me why he hasn't read it anywhere else. I've been trying to tell him for years what liars they are at the Post but he grew up reading it and he still wants to believe it's a good paper. Very frustrating for me. I have to print everything out from here to make him read. I can't believe he thinks the Post is going to write anything about it.

What I can't understand is why hasn't the Washington Times done a story?

Isn't that like saying the editor IS/WAS MD4BUSH?

No...later in the story, they claim an intermediary.

Yes, exactly. Wonder what sort of rhetorical hairs they're splitting with this BS? "Well, we logged on, but we didn't post anything. As far as YOU know..."

Must be the same imaginary intermediary that gave Dan Rather the TANG documents.

Read the article. WaPo says they had authorization and the account password both obtained by an intermediary.

Yeah - it was a big white rabbit, six feet three and a half inches tall. ;-)

Why do they keep calling it a chat room?

Is it to make others think it wasn't a private mail?

That really galls me, every time I read it!

So the Post has admitted that on at least three occasions, Matt Mosk WAS MD4Bush. How can they now claim that he wasn't always MD4Bush if they cannot point to a substitute?

Also, as you know, one doesn't have to be a member to read the posts or to click on a member name to find the posting history. The only advantage to logging on is to read the private FreepMail - which is where MD4Bush received the Steffan musings, or to post.

The rights are not assignable even if the WP knew they were talking to MD4Bush or any intermediary he chose.

"To verify that printouts of the postings he had been given were not fake, Post reporter Matthew Mosk logged onto the site a couple of months later using a password provided by an intermediary who was acting on behalf of MD4BUSH, Brenner said. He said Mosk read the messages and did not post anything on the Web site."

I know, was semi-sarcastic. I don't get this 'intermediary' stuff, just who was it and isn't that against FR rules?

How could I forget the Post' little imaginary "Friends"!

Binker-what I call him-is a secret of my own,

And Binker is the reason why I never feel alone.
Playing in the nursery, sitting on the stair,
Whatever I am busy at, Binker will be there.

Oh, Daddy is clever, he's a clever sort of man,
And Mummy is the best since the world began,
And Nanny is Nanny, and I call her Nan-

But they can't See Binker.

Binker's always talking, 'cos I'm teaching him to speak:
He sometimes likes to do it in a funny sort of squeak,
And he sometimes likes to do it in a hoodling sort of roar...
And I have to do it for him 'cos his throat is rather sore.

Oh, Daddy is clever, he's a clever sort of man,
And Mummy knows all that anybody can,
And Nanny is Nanny, and I call her Nan-

But they don't Know Binker.

Binker's brave as lions when we're running in the park;
Binker's brave as tigers when we're lying in the dark;
Binker's brave as elephants. He never, never cries...
Except (like other people) when the soap gets in his eyes.

Oh, Daddy is Daddy, he's a Daddy sort of man,
And Mummy is as Mummy as anybody can,
And Nanny is Nanny, and I call her Nan...

But they're not Like Binker.

Binker isn't greedy, but he does like things to eat,
So I have to say to people when they're giving me a sweet,
"Oh, Binker wants a chocolate, so could you give me two?"
And then I eat it for him, 'cos his teeth are rather new.

Well, I'm very fond of Daddy, but he hasn't time to play,
And I'm very fond of Mummy, but she sometimes goes away,
And I'm often cross with Nanny when she wants to brush my hair...

But Binker's always Binker, and is certain to be there.

A.A. Milne, "Binker"

"As part of our reporting, we needed to verify that the chat room postings were authentic."

"Chat room"? An editor at the Washington Post thinks that Free Republic is a "chat room"??
I cannot understand how these liberal dinosaur newspapers are still alive.
Yeah, I know they're dying, but not nearly quick enough for me.

The WashPost is violating the First Rule of Holes. "When you find yourself in a hole, stop digging."

Only two people could have authorized a third party to enter the private Freep mail in this matter -- the holder of the screen name NCPAC, and the holder of the screen name MD4Bush. But the Post has no permission from either of those.

It certainly didn't get permission from NCPAC, and it denies that it knows who MD4Bush.

The Post is building the case against itself, brick by brick.

I call BS on this hack job. CBS also claimed that Lucy Ramirez was intermediary for a mysterious "dark-complected man."

This is like Dan Rather saying that the dark complected guy authorized him to broadcast the forgeries.
