For the latest national ratings of your favorite talk show host, please click the link or past in your browser http://talkers.com/talkhosts.htm
Some of the numbers may amaze you and some are smaller than what some of the show hosts claim.
This is the most quantified collection of weekly cume numbers that I can find.
Savage is third!?!?!
Interesting.
So much for all those Freepers who keep insisting that Savage has barely as many listeners as Franken.
Limbaugh and Hannity split up a pretty good section of the day.
I'm sorry to see Tony Snow's show so far down the list (with Franken, yet--yech), and no mention at all of Dennis Prager. My own personal rating priority would be:
1. Rush
2. Tony Snow
3. Dr. Laura
4. Dennis Prager
5. Hugh Hewitt
He's a lunatic, but he is an entertaining whack job unlike Franken.
Whoops--revised list. I left out one of my favorites!
1. Rush
2. Tony Snow
3. Bill Bennett
4. Dr. Laura
5. Dennis Prager
6. Hugh Hewitt
Of course. "Cume" refers to the number of different or unduplicated persons or households listening during a specified period, whether that cume represents a quarter hour, a full hour, or even a full three hours. A higher cume rate will be found when gauging for a quarter hour, than a cume rate gauging for an entire length of a talk radio show or even a full one hour sample, because most people won't listen to a full show of Rush Limbaugh because these talk shows often times compete or overlap.
I don't get Tony Snow here, but I always liked him when he filled in for Rush. My list would be -
1. Rush
2. Medved
3. Ingraham
4. Hannity
5. Bennett
I forgot about Hewitt he would be tied with Medved for 2nd in my list.
I found that odd too. I figured he'd probably be lower.
I'm wondering how they figure this..
A Sacramento station just switched to Air America from "big band" music. Us geezers don't buy nuthin', you see. It's the second Air America station in Sacramento, I believe. Yes, I said second.
I caught a few minutes of "the most patriotic source on the dial." I heard their Mike Malloy (I think was the gentleman's name, it was evening hours in California) call U.S. military "pigs," torturers and murderers who have less brains than God gave pissants.
How many Al Qaeda folks can there be in Sacramento and how much money do they spend that they warrant two Air America stations?
These numbers are often deceptive because they don't include comparisons in specific markets. Host A may draw substantially higher ratings than Host B in every single market where they are both on the air, but Host B can have a larger national audience by being on more stations than Host A.
The list seems screwy to me as well.
1. Rush - got to agree with that, he's still the king.
2. Hannity - I don't get this guy. Hey's ok, but I've always thought of him as "training wheels" conservative talk. You listen for a few months, then move onto something more stimulating.
3. Savage - He's good, but not #3 good.
4. Dr. Laura/Howard Stern - This is too funny. I always thought Laura was a one trick pony and Stern is a talentless hack. They're both two high.
5. Laura Ingram - Should be #4, she's one of the best.
6. Neal Bortz/Mike Gallagher - never heard Bortz. Gallagher is ok.
7. Jim Bohannan/Clark Howard/Bill O'Reilly/Doug Stephan. - Jimbo starts my day, O'Reilly is a horses arse, and I've never heard of the other two.
8. Glenn Beck/Dr. Joy Brown/Don Imus/George Noory - Beck should be #2, he's a brilliant comic. Dr. Joy is easy on the eyes, but that doesn't work on radio. I thought Imus was dead, and is Noory the guy that took over for Art Bell?
9. Michael Medved should be #3, he's the brightest guy on the radio.
Savage has mentioned 8 million listeners and identified himself as the #3 show for a while. Nice to see that verified, especially to his naysayers!
SAVAGE!!!!
Can you get the stream on your computer?
Dennis Prager has fewer than a million listeners? He is awesome! A shame!
I'm shocked Prager isn't even on the list. :(
