Paris rioting largely unreported
Muslim youths have been rioting in a Paris suburb for three days—but good luck if you want details from mainstream media, who seem to be working overtime to obscure the facts in this disturbing story: Third night of trouble in Paris suburb following teenage deaths.  Second Night Of Rioting In Paris
Saturday, October 29, 2005
And last week they were rioting in Birmingham, UK as I just noted in the last thread. Melanie Phillips goes into the political reasons for the media's silence (reported already on LGF): 'minorities' must be victims and not agressors. But this is really approaching open revolt in Europe, and lunatic violence in India and Indonesia, and lunatic threats from pre-atomic Iran.
We've had similar incidents here in Australia.

Indeed it is, and so is what my tagline mentions...

The French crackdown, when it comes, and it will come, will be very hsrsh. Most don't realize that France is very much an authoritarian state, with civil liberties not given anywheres near the same values that we place on them...magistrates can order suspects detained for months, for example, without any charges being filed. Then we can probably expect a big terrorist attack as a "protest" somewheres in France...most likely Paris..

Absolutely right- the French have a long history of dealing with terrorism:

Terror in Algeria- a little history, please....

I heard one of the FoxNews hourly news updates yesterday. The news-reader mentioned the fires and rioting in Paris. Not one word about their ethnicity or religion. Reader made it sound as if it were a bunch of malcontent thugs.

Interesting timing for Prince Charles to lecture us on our intolerance of Muslims.

The mistake the French are making, right now, is letting this thing continue...what is it..three-four days now...a fire grows...they should have snuffed it out the first day..

It doesn't surprise me- we wouldn't want the sheep to get a good look at the wolf inside the door, and panic.

Bush should call Chirac and ask if he needs peace keepers. We could offer to send law enforcement officers from Philly, Chicago and Jacksonville to deal with these riots.

True of any civil disturbance, anywhere. You kill a few of the ringleaders and the mob loses its taste for pillage and burning. They let this fester far too long.

This is the sixth or seventh day.

I think we are seeing a revolution in progress, not a riot. There are reports of similar things in Belgium now.

If the French could stop it, I think they would have by now. They know that if they really anger the TROP (tm), all of Paris will burn. Also, the EU is becoming very muslim friendly, so they can't do much and be PC.

I wonder if Nostradamus saw this coming?

Century I Q 18:
Because of French discord and negligence
an opening shall be given to the Mohammedans.
The land and sea of Siena will be soaked in blood,
and the port of Marseilles covered with ships and sails.

I just finished reading a marvelous collection of essays by Theodore Dalrymple, "Our Culture, What's Left of It: The Mandarins and the Masses". It includes an essay, "Barbarians at the Gates of Paris" in which he describes how the French built these massive housing projects for foreign workers beginning in the sixties, called cites. They've basically evolved into mini Falujas, ringing the city. Gangs involved in theft and drug-dealing are in possession of sophisticated weaponry obtained from rogue states. Once Chirac visited one of the cites, "Les Musiciens", during an election campaign, and was greeted with Molotov cocktails!

That's a very prescient, and scary, observation..not quite sure if I go along with it..more likely, the AQ ringleaders are hoping to incite a French crackdown, to then use it as the pretext for a "big event.." They'll probably want to blow up the Paris sewer system...it's a very vulnerable target, but since the French never bathe, they wouldn't notice it..

Yes, this "unassimilated" nonsense was one of the worst things the French ( and many others countries ) could have done.

The Barbarians are, indeed, inside the Gates.

"Interesting timing for Prince Charles to lecture us on our intolerance of Muslims."

Wasn't there some talk a few years ago of Charles converting to Islam, or exploring it?
