Al Qaeda’s Passage to China

In mid-September, Al Qaeda diverted a small but potent force from Iraq
to a new mission: the opening of a new front in China. The unit was
smuggled into the Chinese border town of Kushi in the Xinjiang Uygur
province in November, after a meandering journey traced by
DEBKA-Net-Weekly’s counter-terror sources. There, the terrorists were
quickly absorbed by the al Qaeda infrastructure of local Uygur Muslim
extremist cells.

Their plan of campaign in the first stage was to reach Beijing,
Guangzhou and Shanghai for strikes against US embassies and
consulates, American firms operating in China and American tourists.
(This al Qaeda group was previously revealed by DEBKA-Net-Weekly 229
on Nov. 11 [A Jihadist Airlift] as having set out from Baghdad between
mid-September and early October, stopping over in Qatar and proceeding
to Konduz in northern Afghanistan for special training.)
DEBKA-Net-Weekly’s sources report the terrorists slipped north from
Konduz into Tajikistan and onto the Kyrgyz section of the strategic
Fergana Valley which straddles Central Asia. There, they rendezvoused
at two places, Osh and Jalal-Abad close to the Kyrgyz-Uzbekistan
border, establishing jumping-off points for both China and Central
Asia.
The Islamist terrorists were guided from Konduz into Kyrgyzstan by
armed men of al Qaeda’s operational arm in Uzbekistan, the MUI, which
also has tentacles in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, as well as training
camps in the Fergana Valley. The commander of these cells is Tahir
Yuldashev, an old comrade of Osama bin Laden who fought alongside him
in Afghanistan. In 2004, Yuldashev returned to Tashkent from the
badlands of Pakistan’s South Waziristan and was ordered to prepare
facilities in Osh and Jalal-Abad for the incoming terrorist unit. His
payment was a section of the force to boost his campaign against Uzbek
president Karimov.
The unit from Konduz accordingly divided into two heads â€" the largest
proceeding from Osh into China and fetching up in Kushi, while the
second group assembled in Jalal-Abad, turned west and crossed into
Uzbekistan to set up base in the Fergana town of Andijon.
American and British military and intelligence officials picked up the
group’s arrival at the Konduz training facility, but decided after
consultation that the large-scale forces needed to eradicate the
facility would be hard to muster. They therefore resolved to await
events and meanwhile find out where the mysterious al Qaeda force was
heading.
According to DEBKA-Net-Weekly’s intelligence sources, Washington
reported the arrival to Moscow, hoping the counter-terror-trained
Russian Motorized Rifle Division 201 stationed in Uzbekistan would
step in to wipe out the al Qaeda intruders. The Russians declined to
take action, but said they would not object to Beijing sending Chinese
troops over the border to tackle the incoming terrorists.
This was the first time Moscow had ever consented to the Chinese
military stepping into Central Asian soil and joining the war on
terror in that region.
Clearly, the Kremlin, which frowns on American military bases and
movements in Central Asia, was not eager to pull American chestnuts
out of the fire

The Chinese government was caught totally unprepared and did its best
to tune out the loud alarums sounded by Chinese military and security
chiefs.
However, on November 9, the Chinese police alerted the US embassy in
Beijing to a possible attack by Islamic rebels on luxury hotels
throughout China. The US embassy accordingly advised American visitors
to “review their plans†to stay at four- and five-star hotels in
China
over the coming week.
A sharper notice was issued in the southern Chinese town of Guangzhou
relaying “credible information†that a terrorist threat may exist
against official US government facilities in the city. American
citizens in south China were advised to remain alert to possible
threats.
China’s Ministry of Public Security responded to these warnings,
which
were obviously sourced in Chinese police circles, with anger. A
statement accused an unnamed “foreign citizen†of fabricating the
so-called attack on four- and five-star hotels in China. The Chinese
foreign ministry chipped in with, “Chinese public security has never
issued such a warning for foreigners on the hotel issue,†its
spokesman told reporters. “Chinese hotels are safe!†he added.
US officials diplomatically withdrew their terror alert notice.
However, while Chinese officials are doing their utmost to calm fears
that could affect the tourist industry, DEBKA-Net-Weekly’s
counter-terror sources affirm that a terror alert is indeed in force
in Chinese cities.

Iraqi Interior Minister: Terror Attacks Decreased 70%

Iraq Interior Minister Bayan Jabir said terror attacks in the country decreased by 70 percent and no escapee has been arrested at Syrian borders for two weeks.
In the statement to Kuwaiti reporters, Jabir indicates this figure was based on the latest statistics.
The decrease in the number of these attacks is a big success, the minister noted, declaring by the end of next year Iraqi army could take over security.
The US Army had declared after the months long operations against insurgents, suicide attacks had decreased to the lowest level in November and roadside bombings had been at its lowest level since last June. 13:23

'THE ISLAMIC RESISTANCE IN THE LEBANON HAS NOT CHANGED!'

Hezbollah
leader Hussein Nazrallah has been speaking about the significance of
the
heavy clashes with Israeli troops on the border with Israel, in the
Shab'a
Farms area, a part of Lebanon still occupied by Israel.
He said: 'The clash that took place on Monday is not a transient one,
in
terms of its causes, nature, or repercussions.'
He continued: 'The Israelis, for several months, have had a certain
reading
of the situation in Lebanon, and they acted based on this reading. If
we
want to understand or know the Israeli understanding or approach, we
should
follow the statements by enemy officials on the one hand; that is, what
they
say, and, on the other hand, the field performance in the south and in
Lebanon; that is, what they do.
'We should link their statements to their actions to discover the
Israeli
understanding and background concerning what happened recently.'
Nasrallah added: 'I have said previously, on more than one public
occasion,
that there could be some Lebanese who understand economy and politics
better
than we do, but allow us to claim that we are the specialists when it
comes
to the Israeli issue.
'People who have not been following statements by Israeli officials
over the
past months are doing that because the Israelis do not mean much to
them, as
if Lebanon is away from Israel.
'Maybe they read what the newspapers Tishrin and Al-Ba'th (Syrian
dailies)
say, but what Ha'aretz, Yediot Aharonot, and Ma'ariv say, this is maybe
the
last thing they may hear about by chance.
'We do not do that. We are specialised in the Israeli issue, and we
follow
what the Israeli officials say.
We know what the Israeli press says, and also we are on the ground and
we
are following in detail what is taking place in the field.'
Quoting Israeli press articles and statements, Nasrallah says that the
Israelis think that Lebanon had changed and that 'the Syrian forces'
departure from Lebanon, according to the Israeli understanding, has
weakened
the resistance and weakened the will of the resistance.'
Nasrallah also notes that according to the Israeli view of things,
there are
divisions in the Lebanese arena and there are differences in views over
the
resistance weapons.
He adds that the Israelis think that 'the level of international
pressure on
Lebanon, government and people, and on the resistance, particularly
Hezbollah, is unprecedented.' He says that the Israelis concluded that
Hezbollah was facing a very difficult domestic, regional, and
international
situation.
Nasrallah says: 'What helped this Israeli analysis was our calm. We
were
quiet. We had been quiet for six or seven months. Things were quiet at
the
Shab'a Farms and the situation was quiet on the border.
'The Israeli planes were flying back and forth. Therefore, the Israelis
misread our calm and the fact that we did not react at all to their
violations. They added this fact to their political analysis of the
domestic, regional, and international situation and concluded that this
was
the right moment to advance into Lebanon. For what purpose? Simply, to
change the rules of the battle - they call it rules of the game - in
order
to change the rules of the game or battle.
'There were rules for the fighting or confrontation that had existed
before
the withdrawal in May 2000, and there are rules that were established
after
the withdrawal in 2000.'
He continued: 'The Israeli violations continued. There was shelling in
the
periphery of Al-Naqurah, but what was more serious is that, for the
first
time, Israeli helicopters were over the coast between Sidon and Tyre.
'This is very serious because this means starting new assassination
operations. Of whom? We do not know. And for the first time, Israeli
gunships reached the area opposite Adlun and close to the coast.
'The international community did not see this. The Security Council did
not
see this. The world is not seeing all the Israeli violations. Killing,
or
kidnapping, the Lebanese fisherman is not seen by the world.
Violating Lebanon's sovereignty is not seen by the world.'
Nasrallah said: 'This confrontation was unavoidable, despite its
harshness
and violence. I tell you that the response by the Islamic Resistance
was
harsh and violent. What you saw on television screens was only part of
that
response, and not the whole response.'
Nasrallah said the aim of this 'fierce and violent confrontation is to
fulfil a duty and confront the incursions and attacks. There was a
message
which should have been delivered, and indeed it was delivered.'
'Nasrallah said that the message says that the 'Israelis and the entire
world must understand that the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon' has not
changed despite all local, regional, and world developments.
He said that this 'resistance remains unchanged, and this party remains
unchanged, with its courage, firmness, willpower, and determination to
continue the path, achieve the goals, protect the homeland, and serve
the
cause regardless of all sacrifices.'
Nasrallah added: 'The facts on the ground over the past few days proved
the
truthfulness of this message. Through their statements and stands, the
families of the martyrs proved the truthfulness of this message.
'Nothing has changed. They must know that we are not weak. We are not
weak
and will not be weak. We were not and will not be afraid. We were not
and
will not be frightened.
'All Israeli calculations are based on illusion. Have they not said
that
they were on the highest degree of alertness on the borders?'
He cited the Israeli press as saying that the command of the northern
region
lost control in the area for 45 minutes.
Nasrallah says: 'Doubtless, one of the elements of strength was this
Lebanese-Syrian unity and agreement. The atmosphere that prevailed in
Lebanon against the backdrop of this issue (assassination of former
Lebanese
Prime Minister Rafiq al-Hariri) in Lebanon has negatively affected the
situation in general.
'The national consensus is an element of strength.'
He said: 'The other point is that much has been said about some issues.
Some
people and the Israelis say on a daily basis that Hezbollah or the
resistance want to kidnap or capture Israeli soldiers. Is this a crime?
No,
this is not a crime.
'We want to be clear and agree that if anybody in Lebanon believes that
capturing an Israeli soldier is a crime and a terrorist act, then he
should
tell us now. I am concerned about Lebanon.
'I personally lost hope in the international community and the UN
Security
Council. You agree with me. Some people still have hope; they are free.
I am
not waiting for the international community, which has not done
anything to
me or to Lebanon, neither in 1982, 1985, 1993, 1996, in Qana massacre,
nor
in resolution 1425.
'It has failed to return our prisoners. It has not done anything,
especially
with regard to the Israeli file.
'So, I am not expecting anything from it. Yes, it is our natural right
to
capture Israeli soldiers. Can I be clearer? We have the right and even
duty
to do this.'
He said that there are still Lebanese prisoners in Israel. He says that
Hezbollah might resort to this option one day, unless the international
community and the UN Security Council resolve this issue through
peaceful
means.
Nasrallah added: 'We have been, and will remain, friends to Syria; we
are
proud of this friendship. We have been friends to Syria since 1982. We
were
friends in 1982, 1985, 1990, 2000, and 2005 and will remain so today.
We do
not hide our friendship with Syria and we are not embarrassed by it. We
believe in this friendship, and we call on all the Lebanese people to
enhance and strengthen this friendship since it serves the interests of
Lebanon in the first place.
'We publicly say that we are the friends and allies of Tehran just as
we are
the friends and allies of Syria in 1982, in 1985, in 1990, in 2000, and
2005. Nothing is hidden.
'We are the only Lebanese party that benefited from Syria for the sake
of
liberating Lebanon, and benefited from Iran for the sake of liberating
Lebanon as well. From now on, we will not be modest vis-a-vis anybody
who
wants to accuse us. We will be modest with those who seek to have
dialogue
with us.'
Nasrallah then praises the martyrs, saying that they sacrificed their
lives
for Lebanon. He adds that there are many people who are still waiting
to
walk along the same path to confront the occupation and the schemes
aimed at
weakening Lebanon and its sovereignty.
The master of ceremonies then announces the arrival of the bodies of
the
'martyrs.' He then calls on the attendees to chant the slogan: 'Death
to
America' and 'Death to Israel.' Nasrallah then leads the funeral prayer
for
the dead.

Police attacked by petrol bombers('youths' in england)

Police have been attacked while investigating petrol bomb attacks on an estate in Londonderry.
Officers were called to the mainly Protestant Fountain estate following reports of youths throwing petrol bombs into the area at 2100 GMT on Saturday.
When they arrived petrol bombs were thrown at police Land Rovers. There are no reports of any injuries.
"Police maintained a presence in the area throughout the night," a police spokeswoman said.
And believe it or not, the bureau is busy hiring more Muslim agents like him.<<<
That sets off my fear factor.

Race riots spread to suburbs
RACIAL violence erupted in several Sydney suburbs last night in retaliation for a rampage by thousands of young residents through Cronulla that turned the seaside suburb into a battlefield.
Political, community and religious leaders joined stunned locals to condemn an afternoon of violence by a crowd that turned on people of Middle Eastern appearance and those trying to protect them, with police and ambulance officers also attacked.
As the violence spread, police cars raced through Sydney streets from Cronulla to Miranda, Brighton-le-Sands, Rockdale, Maroubra, Woolooware and Tempe. Police said they had received reports of firearms being "flashed" threateningly but not discharged. "So far we have had no one shot," an officer said.
A 23-year-old man was in St George Hospital in a serious condition after a fight in Woolooware about 10.25pm. A radio report said he had a knife embedded in his back. Police said the man was with friends when he had an altercation outside a golf club with a "group of males of Mediterranean or Middle Eastern appearance".
In Brighton-le-Sands a group of people were reported to have taken down the Australian flag at the Brighton RSL Club and burnt it in the street. Youths were seen at a garage filling bottles with petrol in nearby Monterey.
Police closed Marine Parade, Maroubra, where people converged in vehicles on the beachfront and began fighting with locals including members of the Bra Boys surf gang. Police said 50 carloads of youths smashed more than 100 vehicles with baseball bats and other weapons. In the same suburb a young girl was punched in the face.
In Rockdale police gathered in riot gear following reports of youths armed with crowbars near the train station after 10pm, a car driver trying to run down a police officer, and items being thrown at police cars in Bay Street, Brighton-le-Sands. The street was blocked off.
Around North Cronulla beach and the surrounding streets, drunk teenagers communicated with each other on walkie-talkies about rumoured sightings of Lebanese gangs.
Commanders from the Bankstown and Campsie patrols were on alert amid fears of outbreaks of violence. Shortly before midnight police received reports of a convoy of up to 40 carloads of youths heading from Punchbowl Oval to the eastern suburbs.
By 12.30am today there were reports of 20 cars with men of Middle Eastern appearance at a BP petrol station in Cronulla, throwing rocks.
At least 13 people were injured during the earlier violence in Cronulla - including five police - and 12 people had been arrested last night.
The Premier, Morris Iemma, led a chorus of condemnation of the Cronulla attacks. "These hooligans have brought shame upon themselves," he said. "Some today tried to hide behind the Australian flag. The Australia that I know, and intend to preserve as Premier, does not support the sort of behaviour that we saw today."
The Police Commissioner, Ken Moroney, said the rioters - many of them carrying the flag and even singing the anthem - were "clearly un-Australian". "I'm ashamed as a man and as the Commissioner of Police," he said. "Never have I seen a mob turn like they have today, particularly on … women and … the NSW Ambulance Service. That has brought a higher level of shame to those involved."
There had "clearly … been a level of racial vilification … and those who are found to behave this way will be prosecuted".
One bashing victim, 19-year-old Mustafa, said at Sutherland Hospital: "They threw bottles, broken bottles, food, anything they could get their hands on. And what were we doing? We were there for a swim."
Another victim, who gave his name only as Moot, said: "We are going to have the last laugh. I got beaten up by 50 people. I am half Lebanese, part-Aboriginal. I am more Australian than the Anglos."
The Assistant Commissioner, Mark Goodwin, who co-ordinated the riot response, said a taskforce would review video footage.
The violence followed a week of simmering tension after an attack the previous Sunday on two lifesavers. Appeals by text message for "Aussies" to descend on the beach to reclaim it drew a crowd estimated at 5000 people, but a carnival atmosphere in the morning gave way to an ugly mood as a hard core of about 200 turned violent. Thousands chanted them on.
The trouble began with scuffles about midday. As the crowd moved along the beach and foreshore area, a man on the back of a utility began to shout "No more Lebs" - a chant picked up by the group around him. Others in the crowd yelled "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie … Oi, Oi, Oi". Members of the mob set upon their prey with fists, feet, flags and beer bottles. Two paramedics were injured as they tried to get victims out of the North Cronulla Surf Life Saving Club, where they had fled to escape the rioters. One of the women had fled into the clubhouse for safety after her headscarf was ripped off.
The crowd broke the windows of the ambulance and kicked its doors as the officers attempted to get the group out. Police, who used capsicum spray and batons in their battle to quell the rioters, were also pelted with beer bottles, and in some cases their cars were swamped and stomped on as they tried to move from one violent flare-up to the next. They sometimes appeared powerless to keep up with the moving mob.
An 18-year-old man who had ventured to the beach for a dip just before 11am was the first to be targeted. He was chased by 200 people to the Northies Hotel, where 20 bouncers joined police in holding back a crowd that swelled to several thousand.
Many people were drinking in a nearby park - some clearly underage. Late yesterday hotels and bottle shops agreed to stop takeaway alcohol sales.
One man was taken by police into Northies, which became a "safe haven". Police also set up a safe house in the North Cronulla clubhouse.
About 7.30pm a young man of Lebanese appearance, arms held out imploringly, sprinted south on a footpath towards the protective shield of the police stationed at Cronulla Beach, hotly pursued by a drunken mob numbering hundreds. He outran the mob and was saved by police, who placed him in the back of a police van, which was then surrounded by the mob.
As the van drove away, one young Caucasian girl laughed and said to a male companion: "That was sick. I've never seen a dumb Leb run so fast. How good was that?"
Earlier a man was cornered in Mitchell Street and had several bottles smashed over his head while he was punched and kicked by dozens of screaming people.
He had been walking with two other men when he was hit by a young man draped in the Australian flag. A bystander tried to stop the assault, saying "He's not a Leb, he's not a Leb".
A lone policeman came to his aid, spraying a canister of capsicum spray to try to disperse the crowd until more support arrived.
Many shopkeepers closed their doors as the crowd converged on Cronulla station. Two men who had just stepped off a train were bashed by about 50 people after they were forced against the carriage. Police said the invasion of the station appeared to have been prompted by a bogus text message saying a trainload of people was due to arrive from Bankstown.
Sarah Id, 17, and her sister Amy, 15, from Sutherland, who were both born in the area and whose parents are Lebanese immigrants, found themselves under the protection of police and transit security guards as they waited for their train while 1000 people stood opposite. The pair had gone to Cronulla Beach, as they had done most weekends as children, "just to get a tan".
"We had to get out because everyone was telling us to go home. Both girls and guys were shouting at us and a woman told us to watch our backs," Sarah said.
"They were saying, 'You don't belong here'. We were born here and went to Jannali High."
Neither the Prime Minister nor the federal Opposition Leader wanted to comment last night.

CAIRO, Egypt (snip) The 48-minute tape, entitled "Impediments to Jihad" and containing a still photo of a white-turbaned al-Zawahiri, was believed to have been made at about the same time as a Sept. 19 video attributed to the Al Qaeda deputy. (snip) The latest tape appeared to be a rallying call to Muslims to attack Western interests.
It cited various militant campaigns and attacks for Muslims to follow, such as the Palestinian resistance against the Israelis in the Gaza Strip, opposition by anti-U.S. insurgents in Iraq and the Sept. 11 attacks carried out by 19 plane hijackers.
"The key to victory is in our hands, and in turn, the primary cause of defeat is in ourselves," it said. (snip) Venzke said al-Zawahiri's Sept. 19 video was unique for giving increased prominence to the Taliban.
"But this latest one even goes beyond that with al-Zawahiri pledging allegiance to the Taliban," he said. "The whole thing is an address to Muslims, saying armed jihad and struggle is the only way and that they have to suffer to do it."
Al-Zawahiri also bemoaned the lack of support for Al Qaeda-linked militants in Saudi Arabia, saying the mujahedeen had suffered "defeat" amid a high-profile anti-terror campaign by Saudi authorities.
"These idolatrous regimes achieve victory over us because each one of us wants to save his own skin and avoid harm for himself," al-Zawahiri said on the tape.
"As long as this malignant illness continues to survive within us, there is no hope for victory and there can only be more defeats, tragedies, disasters and betrayals."

If you want to see why the white people fought back, there was just a big rape case in Australia, with the raper saying that the white girl "asked for it" by not covering herself in the muslim style, this is the excuse they use around the world, but it is worse in Australia for several years now.

I am unable to post the actual video on my site, but here are the links. It has English sub-titles and is essentially calling for all Muslims to stop being afraid to go out and fight the Crusaders in the name of Allah. It is not the same as the one released last week!
