Press Release
December 8, 2005
Washington D.C.
FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691
On December 2, 2005, an Egyptian male was detained by Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officials while passing through a security checkpoint at JFK Airport in New York City. Preliminary field testing of the individual's shoes showed a positive hit for explosive materials being contained in the shoes. The shoes were confiscated by TSA officials and turned over to the FBI for further analysis.
Analysis of the shoes was performed at the FBI Laboratory and it was determined that no explosive materials were present in the passenger's shoes. This individual was also interviewed by Special Agents of the FBI and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Waterloo, Iowa, and it was determined that he poses no security threat.
Feds arrest six in ecoterrorism investigation

Federal authorities announced Thursday the biggest eco-terrorism bust in U.S. history, clearing up a series of arsons that plagued the Pacific Northwest from 1998 to 2001.
The U.S. Attorney for Oregon, Karen J. Immergut, announced the arrests of six alleged ecosaboteurs from Portland to New York accused of taking part in four arsons attributed to the Animal Liberation Front and the Earth Liberation Front, as well as the vandalizing of power transmission lines.
The nine-year investigation cleared up, in order, the June 1998 arson of a U.S. Department of Agriculture building in Olympia; the December 1998 torching of U.S. Forest Industries in Medford; the January 2001 arson at Superior Lumber Co. in Glendale; and the May 2001 arson at Jefferson Poplar Farms in Clatskanie.
Authorities also announced they have cleared up the downing of a power transmission line near Bend on the eve of the 2000 millennium celebration.
Arrested were Sanislas G. Meyerhoff, 28, in Charlottesville, Va.; Daniel G. McGowan, 31, in New York; Kevin M. Tubbs, 36, in Springfield, Ore.; William C. Rodgers, 40, of Prescott, Ariz.; Sarah K. Harvey, 28, in Flagstaff, Ariz.; and Chelsea D. Gerlach, 28, in Portland.
Each of the six was charged with taking part in one or more of the crimes.

This is one of the oddest reports.
Why was he released? Who is he related to?
If the shoes tested positive, then he walked in something, or so I would think.
Thanks, more terrorists.
It would appear that part of the "tree Branch on electric line" accidents, has a terrorist putting it there.

Midway: Southwest Plane Crashes through fence.

A plane has apparently crashed through a fence at Midway airport in
Chicago. Southwest airline 737 plane now sitting in intersection of
55th and Central. Channel 7 has confirmed, fire and ambulances on
way. Details still sketchy.
Granny--
My UofC daughter called from Midway while waiting to fly out for Christmas. There is a heavy snowstorm with about 4/5 inches on the ground (may hit 9/10). There may be some injuries to car occupants on 55th street, but apparently no injuries to passengers and crew. Needless to say there is all sorts of confusion. Midway runways are short and at times present problems on take-offs and landings.
Chicago NBC station, channel 5, now saying no injuries to passengers/crew, but serious injuries to occupants of a car stuck under the plane (plane ended up in the intersection of 55th (runs e/w) and central (runs n/s).

On the news now, if you find the 2 explosive devices that fell off the transport truck this morning, do not touch, call the authorities.........
HUH?
Possibly on Route 85, my mind froze, with what she was saying.
Prayers for your daughters safe trip home and the safety of all those involved in this accident.
Ice, is terrible stuff to drive and deal with.
John and Ken are on the Tookie case, on radio at KFI.com,
if your computer listens to radio.
They have been pushing for his death.
My thoughts on this are: A rope and tree is cheaper.
Granny,
My daughter left the airport to return to school. Delays are running three plus hours, snow is really coming down now and should continue until the early morning hours.
As a matter of fact, I've been listening to John and Ken for the last 45 minutes. Thank you for your very kind thoughts and prayers.

Office Of Allawi's Movement Set Ablaze In Karbala

I'm becoming more and more inclined to keep meat as a non-essential or minimal part of our diet (although I do have a fondness for turkey) (mad cow disease, bird flu, e-coli in veggies and concern about whether fruits are from the USA or imported (re sanitation) or if anything is biologically engineered). Perhaps I'm just paranoid.
Our freezer is full of corn, beans, squash and tomatoes from our garden, not to mention huckleberry preserves and frozen berries for juice and milk shakes.
