Witnesses report plane crash in N.B.
RCMP and search and rescue aircraft are responding to reports of a plane in distress off the coast of southwestern New Brunswick.
Military officials told CBC that an eyewitness in the Point Lepreau area reported a low-flying aircraft that seemed to be having engine trouble.
Local radio stations have reported that a plane has crashed, but that has not been confirmed.
Jae Malana, a spokesperson for the Department of National Defence, said no military aircraft is missing.
RCMP have not confirmed any crash, and emergency crews have been sent out to the area around Pennfield, about 60 kilometres west of Saint John.
Search and rescue spokesperson Lieut. Pat Jessop said a military plane and helicopter are searching the area, while a coast guard ship is patrolling the waters. (snip)

I had a similar experience while visiting with friends in South Carolina. My thoughts were similar. I am accustomed to seeing most of the same people sitting in the same pews each and every week.
One thing that I don't think I took into account with the closing of a Mega Church on Christmas day; would be that it would give the day off to what is probably a large number of administrative people who are needed to help run such a large operation. I still find it odd...but then again when I was a child department stores and such weren't open on Sunday's...so my outlook is old-fashioned.
Yep...I have found a high number of these reports over the last few years during my numerous searches. It is something that is barely reported.
I want one. LOL

CAIRO, Egypt (AP) -- Al-Qaida's deputy leader called for attacks against Gulf oil facilities and urged insurgent groups in Iraq to unite to drive out American forces, according to a videotape posted on the Internet Wednesday...
As I said on the other thread, the guy was brain-dead before he put the pen gun to his head.
In Remembrance of Pearl Harbor Day, and in honor of all of those who lost their lives.
I thought these AQ bozos were supposed to be smart! Talk about biting the very hand that feeds you! That's a real fine strategy: Damage the oil rigs and force oil consumers to find their supplies elsewhere. This drives those arab oil producers out of business and puts a crimp into the donating wallets of mooselimb sympathizers who support terrorist operations against infidel oil consumers. DUH.
Then hopefully American oil consumers and oil producers will push to reopen or open new fields wherever they are to be found in land we control. I understand that many "old" wells in Texas and Oklahoma are being reopened because new technologies can extract more oil for less money. Now if we can get new refineries built maybe we can drop kick the Saudis out the back door.
Since the oil companies were recently proclaiming their "historical profits" over this past year...new refineries should be easy to afford! But as always...not in my backyard...so approvals should take about 20 years.
My feeling is that technology has progressed to the point that existing refineries can be demolished and two new refinieries built in the same spot!
God bless all of them.
I pray that never happens again.
ExSolider...I like your thinking...actually being here in the northeast...there are many refineries in my backyard. Your idea sounds great. The existing refineries being rebuilt would be a great idea, if technology would make them operate cleaner and more efficient on the same existing spot.
Hot tub and cappuccinos with vanilla and cinnamon for everyone.
26 degrees right now and sleet.
Most of my family think I'm nuts, but I love winter. Here in the Black Hills right now the sky is a brilliant blue, and everything else is frosted white. The pine tree limbs are bowing a little with the heavy snow on them. Deer are feeding in both the front and back on some hay I put out for them. I have both the fireplace burning and the pellet stove, too. Also a pot of soup simmering and a really good book waiting for me. The world looks good. At least my little portion of it.
Enjoy your hot tub, cappuccino, and snow. A rare combination in Texas.
I find it odd that a church would close Christmas day as well.
We'll be at midnight Mass. :-)
Make sure your in-laws report back if they see anything.
