So what the hell was the point of the Dems shutting down the senate??

That's the point. It was just a "stunt" as Roberts just said. This is just an attention-getting stunt.

Was Frist deeply saddened?

That's exactly what I picture, that pic of Daschle but with Frist's head.

Roberts: We've agreed to do what we already agreed to do.

IOW, Dems did this for a soundbite of being able say they had to close down the Senate over the Libby affair.

So what the hell was the point of the Dems shutting down the senate??

To get the cameras rolling in the halls, to play to their base and to make news.

To create the perception Reps weren't operating in good faith, to get media attention, to throw a tantrum their days of power are rapidly drawing to close.

As well, to try to win back the love of their whacked out base.

Hold your fire

Roberts says this was ALREADY in progress and no reason for the Dems to do this

Roberts? Geesh...look at that Republican roster on the Senate Intel Committee, it's pathetic.

I want Joe Wilson and the CIA investigated.

I urge EVERY FREEPER to send your collected info to your Senator.

I've just managed to get to post #40 in this 700+ thread, so somebody may have suggested this before, but I would suggest you send this article National Review: Did the CIA “Out” Valerie Plame? (REPEAT, REPEAT & REPEAT-THE MSM MAY NOTICE?)

and a copy of the 36 news agencies' amici curiae brief to the court of the grand jury about the Plame case. The copy can be found in a link in the original thread (5 lines below the sub-heading: The media goes to court...and sings another tune), or at this URL: http://www.bakerlaw.com/files/tbl_s10News/FileUpload44/10159/Amici%20Brief%20032305%20(Final).PDF

Not only will your Senator's get a good overview of the whole story, but they will also get a paper to shove in the face of every journalist, and ask them what they have to say about this document which was sent to the Court by their own organizations not 8 months ago.

That's why you are not an elected official. I'd love to do it too but that would be the point of no return.

"This is not a compromise! Roberts (Intelligence Chairman) up now explaining the status of Phase Two."

Maybe not, but the Dims are the aggressors and this stunt makes Republicans look weak. I want to see a strong move from Republicans.

And all the news nets break away as soon as Senator Roberts (R) starts to explain what Section 2 is. That was close, wouldn't want the public to hear what it actually is, rather than how the Democrats portray it through their media spinners.

Thanks, rvoitier. I watch the NFL and don't watch very much college ball, although Mr. Peach watches.

I heard Durbin say that AQ had nothing to do with Iraq.

We have GOT to remind the left that Clinton's Justice Department obtained a federal indictment against OBL which states that it was known that OBL had an agreement with Iraq not to attack Iraq in exchange for weapons development.

Some good news people

Judge Removed From DeLay's Criminal Case Nov 01 3:36 PM US/Eastern Email this story AUSTIN, Texas Republican U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay will get a new judge to preside over his criminal case after his attorneys successfully argued Tuesday that the judge's political donations created a conflict. State Judge Bob Perkins, who has made campaign donations to Democrats, will be replaced by another judge, said C. W. Duncan, the judge deciding the recusal motion by DeLay. That judge was not named Tuesday.
