Both of them are lower than whale p**p! Both of them have no class nor dignity, they confirm what W.C. Fields said long ago, only they have no real audiences.

Frog marched?? I don't think I've ever seen a frog march.

Just called his boss and asked if there was going to be an apology. The slug suggested he hadn't seen the context of the comments yet.
That brought me to ask him if he minded if I posted that online.
Quick back track. I didn't say that, blah blah blah.

What a tacky and classless thing to say.
Roberts should be fired.

More excellence from CBS. I still don't know why McClellan felt he had to answer.

Must have heard from the new boss. Good point, maybe things can change at CBS -- pigs might fly... who knows?

It is not the job of the WH press secy to be confrontational. In fact it would be a big mistake for him to get mixed up in a verbal joust with reporters. It is exactly what they want and would be a losing situation no matter what the provocation where.
To: blogblogginaway
Saying "if a conservative had done the same thing" can get old, I know, but still . . .
If a conservative had said that, the liberals would be in a total uproar, demanding his resignation, etc.
To: blogblogginaway
Now, if he would announce his resignation or firing.

Is it safe to say that today Roberts lost whatever shot he had at the anchor desk?At CBS? Riiight - he just gave his chances of getting that seat a huge boost. By tomorrow or the next day there will be a bunch of snarky articles in Editor & Publisher, the NYT, et al., sneering at us tight-assed right wingers who just don't have a sense of humor, as well as other pieces worrying about how the "far right" is gaining in influence and trampling all over the First Amendment rights of hard-working "journalists" speaking "truth to power for the American people" by forcing them to apologize for innocent remarks.

< You guys are kinder than I am. I might accept his apology, but there's not a boy who went to college during the period Roberts did who is unaware of the meaning of 'sloppy seconds. >
I guess my being female is why I didn't know. However, if it's used in the UK, why should anyone be so familiar with it? I didn't understand the double meaning of "shag" until those stupid Austen Something movies. Shag is a dance popular on the east coast. Who knew?
I feel so naive.

Look at some old French newsreels, say from around 1943. Whoops, that was goose steeping, never mind.

Oh, thanks, I had no idea that was how it worked. I don't like to watch the press conferences anymore.
I still think he owes more than just an apology, tho.
