Most still believe that the Federal Judiciary acts as a check on the other branches. It used to be that way.
In modern times the courts have actively aided, abetted the growth of the federal government. Most of the court's time is spent tossing out state law. It should be focused on the unconstitutional vote buying, and freedom limiting acts of Congress.
Our republic is in trouble in part because we have two legislatures, Congress and the Judiciary. Both acknowledge little limit on their powers.

Lott is so bitter over losing the leadership position that he is blaming everyone but himself.
He's been whining that the President didn't support him.
So now the petty little girlyman is going to nip at the President.
How pathetic. But then Lott was always a pathetic wimp.

Can verify that Brit said that about hosing Juan.
Funny part was: Camera immediately went to Juan and stayed on him for several moments. The look on his face was priceless: He didn't know whether to be mad or be insulted.

Lott has been on my crap list since I found out how he prevented a real and honest impeachment of Klintoon. He was dickless when he was majority leader, but talks big now that he's just another vote in the senate. I have as much use for Trent "Bendsa" Lott as I do for Arlen "Scottish Law" Spectre.

For some reason, Lott irks me no end. Something so smarmy about him.
As for Arlen, he is not looking well and I presume he will be replaced by Rendell sometime in the next Senate.

The bloggers are the new FREE press. The MSM, power elite, Beltway biggies and lobbyists will never again have unfettered rule and stealth power. We the People/ the Blogs -- are turning this country around. It is a new Revolution, and wondrous to see.

The Internet has become a vehcile for truth, popular expression and political power. And it's up to us to get Alito confirmed. If the President's first term taught us anything, it was that he won't fight that fight by himself.

Your screen name (and profile page) leave me without words.
That does not often happen.
Congratulations.

...we weren't convinced Miers is one of our own. We actually saw some evidence to the contrary. That's the best definition of the Miers issue that I've read. Well said.

I think all these Wash D.C. people need to read the Declaration of Independence AND MEMORIZE IT - it says,"of the PEOPLE, by the PEOPLE, for the PEOPLE" .. not some smarmy liberal idiot's decision.
And .. it wasn't just the "bloggers and pendits" it was TALK RADIO TOO!!
