Good evening, ms feather. Been busy all day. Gonna go roast a hot dog in the fireplace here shortly. It snowed a tad more overnight and it has stayed cold.

We really don't have that many kids in this neighborhood.

There are so many house parties and activities in community centers their parents take them to- I don't feel badly about it.

I was going thur my Dads stuff ,. I found this poem that my Grandfather had writen. I thought some here might enjoy it
Chanute Baker Boys Of 1918

These are the four Bakers
Of the Quartermasters Corps
Who have supplied the field with bread
For the last six monthes or more.

Private Sailor of St. Louis
Is that fat boy of the bunch,
But then you wouldn't wonder
If you saw him eat his lunch

Sargent Stevens is from old Penn.,
The state of Quaker Town;
But if you think him slow ,
Just follow him around.

Corporal Renninger is from Chicago,
The dear old "Windy City"
That's why some of the boys
Thinks he's so witty.

Private brown is from Nebraska,
The sand hills of the west;
That's where he got his grit
to join the Army like the rest.

Put them all together
And you have a bunch of men
That Always do there best
In whatever they begin.
