On The Oreilly Factor last night, in Bills Talking Points Memo, he alluded to the left-wing and right-wing ideologues and what they are saying about the Lewis Libby indictment. He began with an example of the right-wing by playing a clip of Rush Limbaugh. The clip (If anyone is a member of Rush 24/7, could you link to Fridays radio show?) he played was of Rush railing about the mainstream medias scandalous anticipatory coverage of the Leakgate investigation. In that clip, he was implying that the mainstream media are trying to damage the Bush administration and bring down an American president with their coverage of the Leakgate investigation. If Im not mistaken, Rush made those comments before the announcement of the indictments of Lewis (Scooter) Libby. Therefore, other than speculation, nothing was really known about the details of the indictment. So, his comments from that clip was in the context of what the motivation of the MSM was for the hideous, wall to wall speculations and innuendos and not what the left-wing and right-wing ideologues are saying about the Lewis Libby indictment.
How do I know, you ask?
Rush went live to C-SPAN's audio when the announcement of Leakgate by the special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald began and it ran to the end of his talk show without interruption. So nothing Rush said pertained to anything about the indictment of Libby. Only the coverage leading up to it was ever discussed. If you listen and watch The Oreilly Factor; that is not the impression you are left with. By taking Rushs comments out of context, it makes him sound like he was concocting some conspiracy theory about why Libby was indicted, and at the same time painting all right-wingers as tinfoil hatters. Rush never spoke of the actual indictment.
As for the left-wing ideologues and what they are saying about the Lewis Libby indictment. He showed on the screen a couple of mildly provocative blog post headlines. Go figure!
I don't think that Rush had time to comment after Fitzgerald made his remarks. He did talk over Fitzgerald to interject that if the stakes were so high, then why not indict someone for violation of the statute.
We are "THE IDEOLOGUES".
That's the word you use after you settle out of court.
O'Reilly compared Rush to kook website posts.
This is almost as bad as him starting a radio show after he heard Limbaugh was going deaf.
Yes and all that other so called right wing radio out there.
Right wing radio this.
Right wing radio that.
Right wing radio! Right wing radio! Right wing radio!
Savage is envious of Rush and savages him regularly.
Savage is defiantly a bit unbalanced. All the name calling about all the other radio hosts is a bit much too. I don't even know why he is bother with them. He isn't on during the same time, so why bother?
And Rush just sits atop the mountain not discussing or giving a crap about either of these jokers.
Your right, Rush doesn't worry about other shows. And he doesn't talk about other shows. There are other hosts out there are just as classy.
Rush was the only Convervative opposed to the Miers appointment who was fair in his criticism of it. No snide remarks about her person, record, or appearance..
What Say You? ;)
Digger, you are right! I heard BOR's radio show once for about 15 minutes and it's a total yawner.
I got tired of him a couple years back when he went on his rant regarding the story of the white teens in GA who wanted to have a "whites only" after-prom party. BOR insisted that the school should have gotten involved but...he forgets that these kids have a right to assemble and that the after-party had nothing to do with the school. Neal Boortz had to straighten BOR out and it was part of the rift that is still on between them today.
can't blame him for talking over Fitz sometimes,,, it was so unbearable listening to him - couldn't take it without yelling at the tv.
Personally, I think O'Reilly disrespected Rush on purpose. He was probably in a huff because Hannity had Rush on the air earlier in the week. If Rush is as smart as I think that he is, he will not give O'Reilly the time of day. Conservatives used to think Fox News was fashionable because as the new kid on the block it tried to distance itself from the biases of the MSM. Fox News is no longer fashionable to this conservative. Lou Dobbs and even Larry King make better viewing than O' Reilly and Greta. As far as the other shows go, Fox needs to get some new blood as far as consultants go. Newt, Dick Morris, Judge Napolitano et al are wearing very thin. I do believe that the latest ratings show that CNN is narrowing the gap a bit. In O' Reilly's time slot it appears he has a bigger margin than he actually does. CNN Headline with Nancy Grace has a significant audience. particularly when you compare it to the other CNN Headline. programs. If you add Zahn and Grace together, O'Reilly still has a big lead but not as much as it appears.
Fitz was nervous, wasn't he!
Fox is moving to much toward the "mainstream."
seemed to be ''perspiring' for some reason...
O'Reilly is so far ahead of the Dan Rather types in tolerating both sides of issues, he should get a pass on this one. O'Reilly is just trying to adjust to winning over so many CNN viewers....can't figure out how to keep them, so he blathers leftist stuff like oil company profit is bad, etc.
OT. Anyone listen to Jay Diamond on WRKO? Talk about Air America, this guy is soooooo left wing nuts he's actually funny to listen to. I've emailed him several times and he is just as hatefull in his emails as he is on the radio.
Carry on.
Dittoes on O'Reilley being a waste of time.
Bill O is a populist, and a pompous populist at that. He is a waste of valuable air time, on both radio and TV, perhaps more especially on TV, since that show is often a re-hash of his underinformed opinion on radio.I agree. O'Reilly had his day with the 9/11 charities scandal, and that's it. He's been becoming more and more irrelevant since.
Defensive, not used to the big time.
> Bill O'Reilly is just like John McCain.
Can't argue with that, except that BoR might not actually
be a Republican. He strikes me as a conservative Roman
Catholic, many of whom are Dems.
> He'll say whatever he thinks he needs to say at any
> given moment to advance HIS (real) agenda.
Indeed. But other than "throw all the sex fiends except
me in jail", just what IS BoR's agenda?
McCain's agenda was revealed in McCain-Feingold.
AMEN!!!!!!!!!!
I wouldn't know, not first hand, anyway.
