We made a lot of hay out of Bill Clinton lying to a grand jury and Hillary making false statements in the Travelgate investigation. We can't be here defending Scooter Libby for doing the same thing.

This is a painful truth, but a truth nonetheless.

Odd how the CIA gave him a pass. He did it right on national TV, yet there's not one democrat asking for an investigation.

He foolishly lied about something that wasn't even a crime thinking that he had to protect Rove and probably not even knowing that Rove had committed no crime by conveying the CIA status of Plame to him. I read the indictment and am confused about the original charge. It says that her name was classified. It further says that Libby told Miller that Wilson's wife might work a a bureau of the CIA.

Why didn't they address why they aren't charging him with leaking classfied information? Or are they going to address that at the press conference.

Yesterday there was a report saying the market and or the dollar would react negatively to the indictment. I would assume that these indictments are not looked at as devastating. The dollar and the market are both up. Just a thought

Well...it does create an interesting trial. Joe gets called to the stand to explain a number of facts. And in the midst of his little testamony...he lies...and it goes into the court record. Then Scooter...looking for a retrial or have charges thrown out...pulls out the lie...and the judge will just stand there and shake his head. And if this is broadcast out of the courtroom...Joe will be a bit unscrewed. There is no telling where this will lead to. Even Valerie may have something in her closet to hide...from Joe.

Now is a good time for Cheney to resign due to his health and loss of counsel. That way, the next President of the United States can be put into position.

U.S. Constitution, 25th Amendment, section 2:

"Section 2. Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress."

That's presidential succession. The Speaker is not next in line if the VP resigns. The President gets to appoint the VP if Cheney resigns.


Unless; the President dies before the new VP can be sworn in; then the Speak will become the president. So I think comments are right; in their own way.
