Hi, beachy:

I grew up watching (some say memorizing) "Combat!" as a kid.

Both Saunders and Hanley were Sergeants prior to D-Day. With Hanley receiving an un-announced and un-celebrated Battlefield Commission sometime immediately thereafter.

Conlan Carter didn't come onto the series as "Doc" until the second season. Though Carter appeared as secondary characters in a few episodes in the first season.

The list of guest stars on "Combat!" is nearly endless. Though many have become household names.

James Caan
James Coburn
Robert Duvall
Dennis Weaver
Lee Marvin
Robert Culp
Leonard Nimoy
Charles Bronson
Telly Savales
Tom Skerritt
Harry Dean Stanton
Beau Bridges
Jack Lord

Vic Morrow directed one of the series most acclaimed episodes. A two parter titled "Hills Are For Heroes".

I always thought Sgt. Saunders was the coolest. With Kirby and his BAR a very close second.

Jack.
