As many are aware, led by Moveon.org, the radical American-hating libs held a "vigil" tonight to mark the 2000th passing of a brave soldier who volunteered his service. About a dozen of us from Free Republic and Protest Warrior assembled in White Plains to meet this filth head-on.
Our crowd was diverse; there was a mom with two teenage daughters who were on hand to support the troops and the mission. One marine who spent a year in Iraq came with his wife...as did his brother- another marine on call to leave for Iraq at any time. A mother of a solider now defending freedom in Iraq joined us. Our leader was a former Marine who saw action in Somalia.
The fun started at 5:30- we snuck up behind them and caught the filth by surprise with our signs, American flags and POW/MIA flags.
Of course not a single "peace protestor" their to honor our troops hand the flag of our nation on hand...then again I did not see any of the PLO flags they usually carry.
They were shocked we were there....that fact we did not agree with them- that we TRULY support the troops and TRULY support the mission threw them for a loop. They realized they would have to deal with us all night and it ruined their evening. Of course these tolerant, open-minded liberals, who believe in free speech, told us we HAD to leave since they had a permit!!
We had signs such as "Ten out of Ten Terrorists Agree- the Peace Movement helps their cause!" and "Stop Giving Aid and Comfort to the Enemy" and "Anti-war=Pro-terrorist". One of the marines brought a huge sign which read, "They are not peace protestors- they are cowards and traitors."
The people at the vigil to honor the troops had the usual garbage, Bush Lied....Out of Iraq...yet nothing about the soldiers. One woman had a homemade sign which said "The Pentagon is killing our children"...of course underneath it she wrote "American-Iranian Friendship Society"..
We started with chants like "We gave peace a chance...we got 9-11".
Several of the "peace-protestors" gave speeches....a guy kept saying "Bush lied...more money for health care...more money for education." I asked him, about three dozen times, "Why weren't you out here when Clinton illegally bombed Kosovo??" He had no answer and neither did the ten other hypocrites I asked.
"Stop the corporate war profiteering!" They'd scream...I answered, "The biggest war profiteer is Michael Moore".....no answer.
This is my 10th protest in two years and the magnitude of the ignorance and inability to answer factual questions by the libs never ceases to amaze me.
One lady gave a speech stating she supports the troops then went on to say "the war crimes committed by our soldiers in Iraq today are the same ones the Nuremburg Trials found the Nazi's guilty of 50-years ago!!" I kid you not...she then went on to say "Iraqi's have never had it so bad!!".
Our response? A loud chant of "Stop exploiting dead troops!....stop exploiting dead troops!"
At one point the leader of the "peace protestors" was giving an interview on TV (RNN)...I walked up behind him and held up the sign "Stop Giving Aid and Comfort to the Enemy"...to which I was attacked as a peace lover tried to rip the sign from my hand.....I pushed the person away to the ground and to my dismay found out it was a woman who tried to attack me.
Of course I was verbally assaulted; yet stood my ground. One classy lady from the "peace protestors" came up and said they did not want trouble- I apologized to her and said I did not appreciate someone trying to rip the sign from my hands..
After the interview was done I went up to the cameraman and forced him to interview someone from our side...it was me. He asked me why we were out there and what we hoped to accomplish:
"We are here to support our President, our troops and their mission. These people don't realize they are in the minority; America had a referendum on the table a year ago in November of '04 and voted in large numbers to stay the course with George Bush. We are sick and tired of the passive and reactive response of liberals to attacks on our nation...do nothing when Americans were killed at Khobar Towers, the African Embassy Bombings, the USS Cole- do nothing to terrorists as they sit in sanctuary in Afghanistan training to kills us...what these people don't realize is regardless of whether or not you hate George Bush or love him, they will kill you just as fast since you are American!"
The "peace protestors" who support our troops then marched to a local Marine recruiting center, where they said the military was brainwashing American kids....of course we headed them off.
They then marched to the local GOP office where, once again we met them head on.
As they marched with their coffin out front, which we asked if it was the remains of an abortion victim, they were greeted with "Stop exploiting dead soldiers" from our side...one woman said to me- and this was a winner, "stop killing them and we'll stop exploiting them!"
In another loud discussion I got into some lady told me I was crazy- "there are no Al-Queda members fighting in Iraq!!"
At no time during the evening was a prayer said, was there a moment of silence and nothing about the troops except "Bring them home"...very original!
It went well- the 12 of us pissed of the 50 of them. The police were very nice to us, complimenting us and on several occasions saying they agreed with us.
As I drove home after two hours of this I only wished the Republican party would fight as hard for us as we had done the past two hours for our President and the mission.
BTW: for you Mark Levine listeners; I was the last caller of the night who talked about the counter-protest and mentioned Free Republic!

Just what Rush Limbaugh, who I recently started listening to, said would happen! I wonder if they had punch and confetti? The Protest Warriors are a great organization, BTW.

White Plains, NY. There used to be a terrific pizza shop on Mamaroneck Ave, just a few shops down from Smash (Sam Ash Music store). It's been many years since I've been there.

Peace Protesters might be a minority, but you'd never know from the "unbiased" press coverage they get! I bet your interview gets a whole 2 seconds of the story on the news (in the name of "fairness and balance.") But the press never asks them any hard questions, never investigates any of their claims, etc.
I'm sure they were stunned by the counter protest. These people aren't used to GENUINE anger in a protest march. They've been doing it since the 60's and think they own demonstrations.
They keep saying they back the troops but how are they? They disenfranchised the military in 2000 trying to get a victory for Gore. It was Dems (and their lefty allies) who closed ballot offices at bases overseas. In response to the 2000 election, they tried to get ballot offices at Domestic bases closed. They want our military subject to world courts and UN regulations. They moved to cut the military budget forcing a lot of military people on food stamps.
How are these people "supporting the troops"?

"The Final Crusade has commenced!"
We could have used a platoon of Protest Warriors last night in Dutchess County. About 50 moonbat America-hating wackjobs commingled with the garbage cans and trash buckets on Raymond Avenue in Poughkeepsie, across the street from Vassar College. Although they have occuppied that stretch of Raymond Avenue every Wednesday night since the summer, their numbers had been in the low single digits until last night and hardly deserved more than a drive-by one finger salute and a few colorful words.
Great work. I heard you on Mark Levin's show, and now read your inspiring report.
