ABCNEWS TELLS WHITE HOUSE OF 'INDICTMENT' Tue Oct 25 2005 19:08:02 ET
"We have double sourced that the vice president's chief of staff has been indicted," a reporter for ABCNEWS claimed to a White House press spokesman this afternoon.
The White House refused to comment on the claim. The network said they didn't need comment, they were preparing to run with the development on this evening's network news broadcast, sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.
ABCNEWS claimed to the White House that it had double sourced how an indictment against vice presidential chief of staff I. Lewis Libby was set.
A senior White House source quickly determined ABC was bluffing; the report did not run on the East coast feed of the program.

UPDATE
ABC NEWS spokesman Jeff Schneider tells the DRUDGE REPORT: "There is nothing at all true about us having double sourced anything" regarding indictments.
More from Drudge:
CBS JOHN ROBERTS: Lawyers familiar with the case think Wednesday is when special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald will make known his decision, and that there will be indictments. Supporters say Rove and the vice presidents chief of staff, Scooter Libby, are in legal jeopardy...

Indictments in CIA leak case about to be handed down
Was it him for sure??
I don't even remember now what the issue was- but sometime before the election last year I had an ah-hah moment about Kristol- he continues to confirm my disappointment.
OK it was tropism.
That is fairly subtle for the likes of Dowd.
Dammit! I ate it and washed it down with a cold beer. It looked and tasted JUST like a ham and swiss on rye.
What cell do you want that delivered to? Comes with a 'scratch off and win immunity' card.
So what bridge do you live under? Walt Whitman, Ben Franklin or Betsy Ross?
I don't know for sure, although speculation here and elsewhere runs high on it being him.(Moran)
You and you're rye wit...
CBS may have been on a fishing trip too, and just didn't get busted.
Poor Mo, she never gets to be number one.
Cheney isn't in legal trouble .. just political trouble
Wow! He will never run for anything again. What does this statement mean? Trouble with Diane Sawyer or Katie Koran?
Please contact my lawyer.... leave a message as he may be out taking a leak.
indeed. the idea that the administration could trust one man, one prosecutor, and could have total faith that he could not possibly be "gotten to", is way too much risk to take.
the senate committee tee-ed up Wilson's lies perfectly for the administration, but they did nothing with it.
Indictment for conspiracy. Thinking about, maybe, perhaps pondering, and/or even talking to someone else (to be named later) about defeating the dims. /s
Fineman was on Oberman(yes, I am checking out the unwatchable) and said the same thing..The source is the Washington Note? whatever that is. He said the writer is pretty wired in..
I love the irony of all the leaks on the Leakgate investigation. There are only so many people who KNOW what Fitzgerald will do..and it is not those who testified for the GJ.It's the ones working for Fitzgerald.
.
Some pundits and reporters are assuming that people have received target letters because their lawyers are not denying it as they once did..I have no idea if that is true.
No Cheney/Rice ticket in 2008, I suppose.
I'll leave his indictment in the paper towl dispenser.
In all seriousness, right now it looks like we've got another night of lots of rumors, with little substance that soon fizzles. Am guessing that if there any have been served, their lawyers are scouring the scene right now for clues and scope. Perhaps we'll get a hint in 2-4 hours, when they start to spin ahead of tomorrow's possible revelations.
