sounds about right. Waiting for Al Gore to dispute the election screaming " It's 2000 all over again. I know I won!"

Well, well, margins were large in most provinces voting yes. The overwhelming No's in a few provinces I assume were Sunni's?

Yeah but look at Mosul it's heavily Sunni and it came back 45% yes to 55% no, so there is at least one Sunni area thats smart enough to do the right thing and not listen to the extremists.

So 83% of provinces were majority-yes. Sounds like an even higher level of approval than our own Constitution required.

"Sounds like an even higher level of approval than our own Constitution required."

Or got. If I recall correctly (which is by no means certain), our Constitution was approved by a much smaller margin, and one of the reasons it passed was because the Framers agreed to leave the slavery issue out. Nothing's perfect first time out, and the Framers realized this by providing for amendments to the Constitution.
